It’s funny, before the season started, on another board where some folks were quite iffy about him I said that the Swans never really played him in the right role (partly because we just had several others ahead of him and couldn’t fit him in) so he was always relegated to either tagging or just not playing at all. I said I could really see him thriving at Carlton if they gave him more license to hunt the ball while still playing that accountable midfield role and that he was sure to be one of those players where a year or two down the track we’d look back and say “geez, wish we’d kept him and played him the way Carlton is”
Looks like I was wrong and that day came a bit earlier than a year or two!!
