Presumably there are at least two directions that ruler can be halved (perhaps even 3 if wafer thin)

Then of course can we just presume a Ruler is purely an object, but rather a powerful person:

The oldest president at the time of taking office is Mohamed Beji Caid Essebsi who became President of Tunisia at 88 years, 32 days. The oldest monarch at the time of accession is Emir Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah of Kuwait, who started his reign at 83 years, 96 days.

Easily there were half Rulers by age, infact, you draw your own fraction as to how much less than half a Ruler poor little Mary, Queen of Scots, who became Queen of Scotland at six days old.
