Silence who? I haven't heard heard anyone talking down Freo. Heard nothing but how good they've been for the second half of the season. Just because the media were tipping Geelong to win, doesn't mean they're talking Freo down.

I wonder how many WCE supporters actually hate Freo. As one myself I'd probably put Freo as my second team just because they're also from WA. Sure if we're playing them I hate them. Or if they need to lose to favour West Coast I hate them. But any other time I go for them.Well done Freo...a well deserved win and great to see so many WCE supporters praising Freo tonight

I'm still not sure why people are surprised Freo are capable of play like this and giving a lot of the credit to Ross Lyon. In 2010 before the injuries they looked damn good, since then they've been badly hurt by injuries that have cleared up a bit this year.
WCE fans have been pretty good tonight with most praising Freo.

Very few if any gave reasons why Freo would win. They were all high on the Geelong gatorade.
$3.30 before the bounce at the TAB sez a lot about how the outside football world seen them.
How, because the punters didn't want to back against the reigning premiers in their home state against a team who had never won a final in the state?
It was obvious to anyone with a brain that Freo were going to destroy Geelong tonight.

For better or worse hatred fuels the rivalry and therein interest. In that sense hate is an asset to the game. I mean I hate Carlton and Essendon and Geelong with vile ferocity and I'm sometimes not really sure why. Makes me enjoy the games more though.
Yes, it's because no one gave Freo a chance of taking Geelong apart. Everyone thought it was easy money.

How is it at all obvious to anyone with a brain that Freo would win (destroy us? 16 points? sure, freo were the superior side, but there was no 'destroying' in my eyes). Freo, Cats and Hawks were probably the 3 sides in the best form heading towards the finals. Geelong know how to play finals and had Freo at the G. Fremantle were the far better side and Geelong played their worst game of the year, yet we only lost by 16 after just trailing by under 40 at quarter time. I'm not one to complain about umps but every time we looked to gain momentum we were deprived of a vital free kick that would have certainly led to a goal (and in one case immediately led to a freo goal).
I wouldn't make excuses like this if you didn't make stupid comments.

Or all the times Sandi has his arms chopped (but thats been a theme through the whole season). Or there were two occaissions with Pav where obvious free´s were missed.

How many more free´s did you get? You also only got back into the game when your captain went on a cheating rampage and got 3 consecutive free´s for ducking in attacking positions.
