Re: F!@#ing Great... sex assault allegations

Call it a coincidence or just plane unlucky, but the alleged player does not have a photo on any website i can find. I have looked in afl.com, real footy, papers etc and lots of photos of collingwood players, in fact every player enjoying the win and mad monday but not the alleged player.

WOW Pies media work quickly these days.
He's in today's Hun

Re: The official 'win a flag and become more depressed than ever' thread.

Definitely taken some of the gloss off it for me. The worst part is I won't be able to gloat when I return to work Wednesday - replies of "yeah but what about the alleged incident" will be the expected retort.

Re: The official 'win a flag and become more depressed than ever' thread.

Oh come on. Your club has just won the premiership and you decide to get unnaturally hung-up on this?

There were 21 other players out there you know?

Jesus just take the bloody thing and be happy.

I wholeheartedly agree.

To be flippant, a Collingwood player could have killed someone on Saturday night and I still would be ****ing rapt with the fact that we have a premiership.

Walking away from Gosch's Paddock yesterday I remarked "no one can take this feeling away from us", and I stick by that statement.

I'm a Melbourne Storm fan, and I still consider the flags that got ripped of them as being real, just like nothing can take away from the fact that we won the flag.

No need to cry, no need to pout, one player may have acted like a moron, but that doesn't take anything away from what the club has achieved in 2010.

Bring on trade week, I'm ignoring the whole case until the "whole truth" comes out or the police lay charges.

Until then, I'M ****ING ECSTATIC, and I will be for months.

Re: The official 'win a flag and become more depressed than ever' thread.

**** sake what is annoying me is that most people on this board are complaining WE JUST WON A ****ING FLAG who cares what they did after the game what matters most is we came away with the big 1 5 for our club. I'd do it all again next year too!
GO PIES

I am not pre-judging anything, but you have serious problems if you think anything goes after a GF.

If the charges come to nothing, I will be utterly irrate, incensed, about the ruination of this moment, but if they're true, it stains the flag and really disappoints me. Deeply. I'm sure the players would feel the same way.

Re: F!@#ing Great... sex assault allegations

It's not a matter of getting off-if he's innocent he's innocent and the accuser should face charges.

Exactly !! It's about time players take a stand and sue if false allegations are made. If it's true a player has to face up to it via the law and media. It's time the acuser also faces the same.

Re: The official 'win a flag and become more depressed than ever' thread.

The law will take its course and all we can do is support the club in subsequently doing the right thing, whatever that is.

If, and I say if, one of those 22 players turns out to be have been a ****ing arseh*le, it takes nothing away from what the side achieved. It takes nothing away from the vast majority of our players who have earned general, if sometimes grudging, admiration for their humility and work ethic, or from the handful who have become better men because the club forced them to grow the **** up.

It takes nothing away from us as supporters, either, unless we let it. Are you an arseh*le? Of course you're not. Is it depressing to think that one of our players might have committed a violent and despicable crime? Damn straight it is.

But we won a flag, with a team full of decent young blokes.

I feel great. You should too.

Re: The official 'win a flag and become more depressed than ever' thread.

Why are you all getting worried about yet?
Its all just allegations.
GO PIES! LIVE IT UP

Re: The official 'win a flag and become more depressed than ever' thread.

To me, the most disappointing thing is not being able to watch us play again until next year.

Re: The official 'win a flag and become more depressed than ever' thread.

Maybe you all now understand a little more about a supporters love for a club, regardless of certain player indiscretions.

Also understand how the other 21 players feel, probably a little conflicted at the moment as well, you should make them feel as special as possible so it's less awkward for them.

It's only ruined if you let it be ruined. If you don't worry about it now (which let's be frank is completely unproductive in any event), if you don't let people get at you about it, then nothing will be lost if there turns out to be nothing in it.

If things turn out for the worst, the player concerned will wear the consequences and rightly so. I will be disappointed in him and so will his teammates. Will they be disappointed in themselves? Hell no they won't. I can think of several premiership sides (1996 and 1999 spring to mind) which have harboured an utter scumbag. No stain.

Chin up, man. You didn't do anything wrong. The side didn't do anything wrong. The club didn't do anything wrong.

Frankly the best thing we can do is to support the club in doing everything possible to ensure that we recruit players of good character and that we do everything by the book. I think we've done pretty well on that front in the last few years. I'm proud anyway, but I'm always happy to be prouder.

Re: F!@#ing Great... sex assault allegations

Everyone needs to take a breather. The first 72 hours following an 'incident' like this is 50% speculation and 50% complete bullshit in the media. The Australian report is inconclusive at best, and is no doubt bending the truth to maximum breaking point, as well as being pretty vague and ambiguous.

At least The Australian clarified the sex of the victim, which is more than the Herald Sun or Collingwood website did. Even the AFL only made passing reference to "respect for women".

THIS.....

I can't imagine how they would feel right now.
I also feel for the player involved!! (and the girl... but that goes without saying).

It's just a horrible situation if true!

Re: The official 'win a flag and become more depressed than ever' thread.

Currently sad about Tarkyn Lockyer retiring, he was a hero and inspiration of mine. True legend of the black and white. :(

Re: F!@#ing Great... sex assault allegations

I seriously hope this isn't true and I will hold my opinion until the correct information on the matter is released. Until then I will be neutral and support both the CFC, the team, the alleged player/s involved (innocent until proven guilty) and also the alleged victim who, if this is true, would be in in a state of disarray at the moment and I hope she receives the support she needs to overcome the traumatic event (once again, if this is true).

Don't like the hatred coming from some supporters here though. I think accusing whoever is involved and saying 'they should be kicked from the club and AFL' is just stupid since we barely have any information on the subject and we seriously can't comment on what will happen until we understand the circumstances of the story.
yes its a bit disappointing that some supporters have already handed down their moral dictums without even knowing the nature of what occurred. i guess this is to be expected given the hysterical nature of bigfooty.

allegations remain allegations at this stage. if they advance to formal charges, im confident that the club will handle the situation in the best possible manner without the exasperated moral wrangling from supporters with regard to what ought to be done in varying hypothetical scenarios.

from a purely personal pov, and prob not a popular opinion given commercial interests etc., but if what they did was just really stupid as opposed to overtly sinister or malicious, i'd hope the club stick by them.

Still.... has dampened the win to an extent... but I'm still so happy we ARE PREMIERS OF '10. :D
don't get it twisted, the rest of the comp perpetually suck our balls. this is no allegation; this much we know, and all opposition supporters must be made aware of such. :D

Re: The official 'win a flag and become more depressed than ever' thread.

Look, if it's anything remotely that outrageous it will be evident sooner rather than later.

Similarly if it's the other way.

Bit hard to just move on though until we know for sure.

And yeah, definitely annoying having to wait so long to see us play again. One thing the EPL has right! :p

Re: The official 'win a flag and become more depressed than ever' thread.

Personally there is no way I am going to allow these allegations taint the incredible experience I witnessed on Saturday. Forever I have consumed myself with concerns about speculative occurrences etc. Through experience, I have adapted and now only focus my energies on things in my control. Things I can impact on. That is not to say I won't want the player if found guilty reprimanded. But why should I worry about it now... More than likely, it's all bullshit.

... and all the crap on the main board... If you let them get to you, seriously don't bother surfing an Internet forum. Opposition supporters and media will do their best to dampen the mood

Fu<ked if it is going to work on me... In fact, I get a laugh out of it... So should you...

Re: F!@#ing Great... sex assault allegations

If player has any illegal or immoral involvement in this incident, should be sacked immediately. I feel sick to think the euphoria of this victory has been so quickly tarnished.

Re: F!@#ing Great... sex assault allegations

Brace yourselves :(

POLICE are investigating whether a member of Collingwood's premiership team was involved in a pack rape of a woman with a group of footballers in the early hours of Sunday morning, as the AFL club was celebrating its grand final win over St Kilda.

A woman has told police she was forced to have sex with the Collingwood star and up to three other men at a private home in Dorcas Street, South Melbourne.

Police are also investigating a second Collingwood player after the woman, a 20-year-old student, alleged she was assaulted by another man as she tried to flee.

OMG - This is horrid, i don't think anyone would make up gang rape allegations. Couldnt possiable get away with it, with all the evidince that would be left behind either proving it right or wrong!

Feel for the young Lady, the best the pies could hope for is this.

1. Shes made it up, but i doubt it.
2. That the 2 pies player were at a private house party, where the incident took place, but in her shock and the ordeal of it all a case of mistaken identy on the victims part.

Its a shame this terriable ordeal has happened, it has taken the lime light of your premiership win........... By the Congratulation on the win, you's deserved it.

The ironic side of it tho, wasn't it Mick Malthouse who had ago at Stephen Milne for the alleged rape of young lady..... mmm

Re: F!@#ing Great... sex assault allegations

Yeah because Mick Malthouse is the one at the house party. Head back to the main board to spread your crap. Nothing official released yet, just a rehashed article from earlier. Wait and see.

Re: F!@#ing Great... sex assault allegations

you can't sack blokes for being immoral.

If the accusations are true, they should go to jail, so I doubt we'll need to bother sacking them

The AFL can de-register them and i think we will see behaviour clause being built into player contract. "if a player is proven in a court of law of rape, they will be forefeit any contract and pay out rights ect".
