Add a few current and former players retunring from interstate and overseas seen training at Turner Rd. Trouble looms for the Rosellas. 2010 might be a fight for Div.1 survival at Weatherall Rd.

Only one (1) player that played last year has been training at Highett, and he only played in our Thirds. The other two both haven't played in four (4) years having been overseas and interstate. They all have mates at Highett (Swampy etc.) and thought it was a better fit considering their time without playing.

Massive news at Chelt , huge loss Dunne, maybe the chelt dooms dayer who posted earlier might be right about the coach etc, etc?

Come on backtoback08, you of all people must know how false rumors and innuendo can get out of hand!
The truth is that we have lost four senior players from 2009 (two have retired, two have moved on), the same number as most other clubs (if not less). That means that 25 odd other senior players are staying, so they are clearly not unhappy.
Recruiting is also going well with over 40 players on the training track most nights and plenty of new faces which is great to see. I'd say the doomsayer that posted earlier was a fair way off the mark with their information and were merely just trying to stir up a bit of trouble!
We also had 25 colts at training on Wednesday which was a huge effort considering it was 35 degrees and a few of them look more than capable of stepping up and contributing strongly in the senior side in 2010.

On Dunne.... He is heading overseas early in the year and will miss a good chunk of the season. Knox gave him an offer that we (and probably you guys too) couldn't go near matching. It will pay for his entire trip basically.

Just thought I would clear this up as I (and you) know how things like this can get out of hand!

Agree RedRoomMilkn. Good get for Dingley if true.

A question for yourself or sfl08 or backtoback08......Any chance a certain high profile recently retired Tiger might make 6 appearances down at the Peanut Farm in 2010? Apparantly good mates with Ezra Poyas.

Just a rumour floating around in the Bayside suburbs....

Heard that as well. It's big Nathan Brown, good mates with Poyas.

Might happen, might not.

SFL clearances have it confirmed as of today.. Just that little bit tougher for the other clubs.. not that it wasn't already!!

There was talk amongst EDFL circles that Strathmore were chasing Quinn heavily. Possibly the recruitment of Arvo back to City is a safeguard incase Quinn caves in to the huge money being thrown at him by the 'Mores.
If not they are a formidable duo in the ruck.
if it was all about money quinny wouldnt have left strathmore in the first place....arvo in the ruck quinny in the pocket

Big Arvo is back, he initially was going to Lalbert ,but decided at 30 he didnt feel the travel was worth it, he has a lot of mates at city and wants to play finals, after 2 B&fs at tooradin and no finals he decided to forgoe the money and play at the club he wants to , some of the offers he knocked back were huge, we all look forward to arvo \ quinny combo.

Quinny hasnt missed a session and is looking ominous.

Also Jay Bruno tearing the track up at Sandy, has got a gig in stkildas intra club match at Moorabbin Friday night

Had seen arvo out the other week and his words were (i would play at oakleigh if they had the money). So i am guessing that money had alot to do with getting him back in a saints jumper!

no one said he wasnt getting paid doggy they stated he had a lot better offers but didnt want to travel:confused:

YAWN......Geez its started early this year, might be a record!

Don't you people have anything else to do in Dingley......oh wait, no you don't! ;)

Just for the record and to update the snowman as he has been away for 2 years, we played about 6 kids throughout last year at various times and I would expect up to 4 kids to be in the senior team round one
