there are 3 actually. only 2 playing footy. mark and jamie. wouldn't think jamie was in the same class as mark.

time will tell but mark is only training to keep some level of fitness. won't play this year.

You mean James?

Mark will play football again, whether or not it's this year is another thing, however he hasn't ruled out a return this season whatsoever.

Just having a look at this weeks games and round 4 sets up to be a cracker of a round...

Tips
Chelsea Vs St Pauls Huge clash.... should be a fantastic game
East Vs Chelt- Could Chelt be 0-4??
Heath Vs St K - Only easy game for the round....St K in a big way....Silver 50 goals
Dingley Vs Mordi- Mordi should get up in a close one.
Springy Vs Tooronga- No idea... These two and Heath fighting for the spoon!!

City by 22 goals
Mordi by 4 goals
Springy for their first win of the season by 12 points.:D:D

no. i meant jamie. have always called him that.

i didnt say mark wont play again. i said i guaranteed he wont play this year. too much going on outside of footy. will not play.

Chelsea too good for St Pauls by about 5 goals
Mordy over the Dingoes by 6 goals
Vampires by 5pts in a close one over Chelt
City by 10 goals over the Tunners
The Combine by 6 goals over Dists.
That is all!

Watched Heights v Doggies.. Smith,Rigby,Norton out for Heights and still won pretty comfortable in tough conditions.. they look pretty good.. but St Pauls didn't handle pressure too well.

heights did play well, played the conditions alot better than dogs, but the dogs also had about 6 out, they were playing 6 under 18s and they were not quite up to that level from what i sore

I think you will find that the colts that played will be a major part in our future, however at this point in time it's about getting senior games into them so they can quickly adapt to the level of physicality/fitness that is required.

If you saw young Matty O'Connor in the last, put his head over the ball a couple of times, won the hard ball and set up a goal or two plus kicked one of his own.

The more time they spend in there the quicker they will adapt.

On the game, it was won in the first quarter. Doggies had a 5 -6 goal wind and only put on 1.4 or so, that wasn't good enough, and if they had say kicked the standard 4 - 5 that most would with that wind, then the deficit would have been around 15 - 25 points which is probably where both teams are at.

Chelsea were on from the start, St Pauls not so much.

Nice first post MYVIEW, what's your issue with Cheltenham, the thread is discussing Chelsea and St Pauls ?

Why don't you share which club your involved with so we can all comment on the difference between your club and Cheltenham.

I'll tell you whats going on at Cheltenham, they are no good. a very scared outfit, terribly coached, and do not like to recruit players that don't run away from their own shadows.

So to answer your question, Yes poorly coached, and YES, deplorable culture.

I will give you an honest answer here mate. There are a few reasons and I will list them below but no doubt 0-4 is an unacceptable spot to be in considering the weight of expectation for this year...

1. We have had a tough draw to start the year. Mordialloc (4th last year), St Pauls (3rd), St Kilda City (1st) in the first three weeks is a nightmare start for any opposition. Then throw in East Brighton (clear improvers) and this week Chelsea Heights (2nd last year). One win is all it will take for it to turn around.
2. We have turned the ball over far too many times and have been made to pay by good teams.
3. 12 new players in the side, its going to take some time for them to adjust and gel. Lets just hope it all clicks very soon!
4. Certainly not anything to do with coaching or the culture. Anyone who has had ties at the club and the league can tell you there is no club in the SFL with a better culture than what exists at our club.

Our list is too good to be where we are and a win isn't too far away!

does this great culture superfreak condone one of your players cowardly dirty off the ball elbow tactics that put the stkilda player in hospital with multiple face fractures requiring surgery and sidelining the player for the season?

So what you are saying is nothing is wrong with this club??
Just bad luck i guess.
I guess that reply says it all.
May i suggest a big broom and a new mindset are in order!!!

Perhaps Snowman you are talking about Dingley. Brushed off the ball far too easily. Unlike Chelt, we have had a dream draw.

2 wins from 4 winnable games = A very long season. St. Pauls this week away, look out!

Ok then, hahahaha, so i guess what you are saying then is someone like springvale districts has just been hard done by as well, because they have had to play teams that finished above them last year.
Also Heatherton, it doesn't matter if they don't win a game because they were in division 2, so playing all these division 1 teams this year is just a terrible draw for them. And furthermore, St Kilda City should be 0 and 4 too, they have alot of new players every year, so it should take time for them to gel too.
Get your hands off it you goose, boo hoo, you have to play every team, if you were good you'd be competitive, but you're not. You are all extremely weak, the culture is disgusting down there, your coach is terrible and you have no future in sight.

But i feel for ya, really I do, it has been such a terrible draw, fancy having to play every team twice.

:thumbsdown::thumbsdown::thumbsdown::thumbsdown::thumbsdown:

An angry St Pauls on the rebound this week i might add..........

Geez, thats a bit much from you Snowman, ive seen you play a couple of times and ive never seen you put your head over the pill!

Maybe they call him Snowman because he melts when the heat is on him???? Long live the Koach!!!

I heard about that. Someone I know from Cheltenham said that City were going to complain to the SFL, but seeing as Chelt tape all their home games, they showed City the footage and their was nothing wrong. Apparently the City player went into the game with an injury to the face or something along those lines.

Tips for this weekend,

Mordy by 8 Goals,
T Malvern by 4 goals,
St Pauls by 10 goals +,
City by 10 goals,
Chelsea Heights by 15 goals.
Good luck and have a good weekend...:D

Every club has a duty of care to there players and when a player is maimed behind the play and ends up with 3 facial fractues and plates, screws etc in his head, I think the club has no option other than to enter into a process which might unearth what happened.
There was a behind the play incident and from all reports the actual strike wasnt on the video. the incident is not something we want in the league nor should the league or clubs condone it.
The people involved know exactly what happened!
Anyway, its gone through that process and it is what it is and we move on!

Ewen McKenzie (Cheltenham) - Guilty of Striking another person: 4 match suspension

The victim will more than likely miss the whole season

The question is does the sentence fit the crime, it seems he might have been half guilty?

It is an odd sentence. The severity of the incident as it has been described here, you would either expect Not Gulity - inconclusive, or Guilty 8weeks+. Does sound a bit like a 'happy medium' conclusion.
