Whatever I;ve coached for years and at the top level have some balls and be honest, dont cover it up.

Words like "whatever" are best left on American sitcoms, commentary about balls? chatrooms are for the balless people the majority of the time mate you have an opinion and I have mine, the players at this club respect and are in tune with Richards philosophy and methods, it mightant be everyones cup of tea, but its effective and I hope we win so all the knockers can squirm during the summer

I agree CuttingEdge i think the Saints looked a different side than during the year last week and i think they will win a close one. It's one thing to have finals experience which both teams have but,the Saints have blokes that have been involved in 2-3 flags on every line.No doubt St Pauls will be hungrier than ever but, they would have to be nervous after what they saw on Sunday.I also think some of there older more experienced blokes would have been in 5 losing GF's and will be more nervous than the younger blokes.
The move of Newmann to the back half was a great move as he is one the best going around not only providing drive but, directing traffic for the Backs. If people think Houston is not smart good luck to them, he certainly won the battle last week against a bloke who has coached his whole life. After playing against the Saints during the year i thought the only thing needed for them to win the flag was to get some real quality behind the ball and if Newmann stays in the backline they will win.
Having said all this i hope it's a cracker of a game and may the best team win.

Lets not forget that they played an ordinary side on the weekend and they wont be getting any uncontested possesion, st pauls beat clayton by close to 100 points during the year so i wouldnt be taking st kildas performance too seriously but will be a cracker and a close game.

Different ballgame this week, We are hoping that the pressure gets to the doggies and creates a few turnovers, there is alittle rumor floating around
that the flu has hit them pretty hard, there is definitely a little man on there shoulders and we have to use this to our advantage, there is no secret that we have to come out firing and get the early lead, cant win GFs playing catch up footy , we have pulled up well from Sunday and the
spirit and enthusiasm at training is electric. Our pride was dented in the 2nd semi and we want to redeem ourselves.

You blokes are in trouble if your HOPING that pressure will get to us and that the flu has hit us.

Rocket ,Rocket ,Rocket your a very silly man,st.pauls have beaten you the last two times, give it up with your banter, your just firing the boys up.

Hey TAD just a footnote you blokes should be keeping quite untill you have won a Div 1 flag instead of firing up the Saints. As i said in my last post your finals record speaks for itself 0 Wins 5 Losses and the same blokes are running out this week. You better hope Dessent,Barnes,Artz,Cooke,Sziller,Ryan and Co don't have shockers as was the case when Clayton put the blow torch on them last year.
Is Boeh Davies playing this week i hope he does because he's the X factor for the Dogs??

Who will miss out for Davies and Sziller?? Never an easy decision this time of year if there are no injuries.
Cuttingegde may be able to tell us if Josh O'Neill will play because he's as important as Davies is to the Dogs.

ONeill is definitely in, will be a huge addition, could have played last week
but decided to hold him back, he is flying.Johnston is a fair chance to

Tad, your off the mark, Rocket dont talk on big footy, he leaves to us lunatics, also I have said nothing to fire up the doggies, if the doggies
need big footy to fire , then we are home

St Kilda to win by 3-4 goals on Sunday if conditions are good. After playing against both teams, St Kilda don't have a coaches hat but on there day have way too many match winners for St Pauls, and I believe St Pauls have on of those 'Geelong' choking curses don't they???
If St Pauls are going to win, there only opportunity is to out coach St Kilda which shouldn't be too hard.

Money didnt talk when they beat us twice, to all the knockers thanks for the inspiration,we did it the hard way and deserved it.

Well done mate, you blokes have had your critics since pre season but its a great effort to overcome all the crap and win the falg. Good stuff. Feel sorry for the Doggies though....surely they will break through soon.

money talks.....

I pressume that all of St Pauls players were playing for next to nothing then

I don't particularly like St Kilda City but congratulations must go to them

I wasn't at the game yesterday but heard little bit of it on the broadcast. St pauls were a few goals up in the last quarter, was there a wind going to one end of the ground or did they just choke.

What was the crowd like?

The crowd was pretty good. I would think 2000+. It was a fantastic game befitting of a Grand Final.

I would say the breeze was worth 2 goals. Was more of a cross wind but favouring one end a bit. So at 3QT it was always going to be close. In the end it was StKC who just had a couple too many match winners. Long goals by Hassan, Dimachki in the last 15 mins to get them over the line.

Was at the game yesterday and enjoyed every minute of it. Grand finals that come down to the last minute are always great to watch and the umpires didn't have much influence in the game as well. Was very surprised at the state of the ground, thought it was disgraceful. Surely this isn't the best ground in the league is it?

Noticed at half time there was a melee as both teams were walking off the ground. Can anyone tell me what happened in it and how it started? I was sitting down the scoreboard end of the ground.

Thought St. Kilda City were always going to win with there power forwards controlling the air, although St.Pauls did look like running away with it in the third quarter. I still believe Salim Hassan should be playing at a higher level, thought his last quarter was terrific.

Great game, great result.

(P.S Was sitting right in front of the action when the St.Pauls player got headbutted in the reserves game. Was an absolute disgrace what happened, the bloke from Clayton should be rubbed out for all of next year.)

Think this was a continuation from what happened to Heath Barnes (didn't see what happened) but he got sent off with the blood rule from something that happened 100 meters behind play.
St Paul’s made a lot of poor decisions in their backline throughout the day chipping the ball to the wrong option, putting their team mates under pressure.

Just had a look on the SFL website it mentions that Zosens won the medal for best on yet wasn't named in Stkildas top 6 players. Who votes on the medal and was he really best on

A great game to end the season on. St Kilda City thoroughly deserved the premiership, though nice to see St Pauls choke again!! Will they ever win one?? It'll be interesting to see whether the likes of Shaw, Prew, Sziller, Dessent will go aound again...some have now played in 5 GF losses!!

Spoke to Ben Zosens after the game and he even admitted he was surprised to get the medal. I thought he played ok but have seen many better games from him before. Hassan is a class act, Dimachki stepped up when it counted and I thought #26 Reisenger down back was very steady and rebounded many attacking moves.
My favourite part of the game was Cassett cleaning up the old fella in the crowd when he jumped the fence. Cass always seems to entertain the crowd even when he is being well held- defiently the type of character and player the SFL needs to promote the league- brings crowds to watch him play.
