Where will Wayne Fuller play cricket in season 2007/08 ?
Will he still be involved with Mordialloc Football Club next year,I heard he is going to support Tommy Donnell at Cheltenham ?

Dunno about Wayne's cricket exploits, but he was talking about giving Mordi Footy Club away earlier in the season but seems to of changed his mind. Don't think that he would be a great loss to the club.

Contrary to what I have previously said I actually know Wayne quite well. You will be surprised, Chaddles, how much he actually does do for the club. If he decided to leave, he could be a bigger loss than what some people may think. Local footy clubs don't run on fresh air

Fair call, I didn't mean it to sound that harsh. I get along with Wayne quite well, what I meant was he isn't irreplaceable. I hope he does stay around I do enjoy chatting with him at the footy and having a few drinks with him, if he does decide to go there will be someone to fill his position comfortably. I was referring more to his fiscal management skills which aren't top shelf, and maybe he would be more suited to another position in the club.

Hmmm......riveting stuff...!

What is going on with Heatherton? From what I have seen earlier this year they have been pretty competitive but East Brighton hammered them, and they have not been travelling that well???

Have they had more injuries? or did EB just have a day out. Anyone at the game???

Wayne, needs more in his life than the MFC or Tommy Donnell, he needs a woman ? maybe two !

Watched Alot Of Division 1 Footy This Year, And I Must Laugh, Very Loudly.

I Hope You All Improve, And Improve By A Large Margin Before Next Year Because If You Dont, The Mighty Dingley Football Club Are Going To Smash Every Side In Division 1 By 20+ Goals Minimum!!!

It would have taken you a while to write that with one hand. Having to hit the caps key before every word, all while your other hand was on your old fella!!

He's brad to the bone.
bra-bra-bra-bra-brad
brad to the bone.

Can anyone from the SFL justify why they play finals at Springvale. The ground is a paddock just waiting to cause knee and ankle injuries and there is no atmoshphere.

Surely there is better grounds (atmosphere) and surfaces in the league.

Would of thought Mordi would of been a pretty good ground to have the finals- they aren't playing so why not?? Surface is pretty good at present, grand stand, plenty of viewing points.

Having seen it on Saturday I would have to agree the surface is very poor this year. Some players on Sunday struggled to bounce the ball properly! The problem is that a number of the grounds with better playing surfaces don't have perimeter fences and so it's difficult to get people paying at the gate, so it's unlikely the league would give up that revenue. It's a shame because the finals should be a showcase for the best of everything the league has to offer. Let's hope no injuries occur as a result.

I guess the reason they don't play Div 1 finals at Mordi is the same reason they don't play Div 2 at Springvale. Could you imagine the uproar if Springvale Districts got to playa GF on their home turf? I realise Mordi are struggling in Div 1 at the moment, but it hasn't and will not always be the case. Having played finals at Mordi the last 2 years, I would have to say that the surface is one of the best I've seen for a metro footy ground.

I understand this but surely the SFL can make the decision later in the year when the realise mordy aren't going to make it.

The showpeice of the SFL should be played at a decent venue.

When are the finals venues decided? Surely they could of realised with 5 weeks to go that Mordi weren't going to figure in the finals mix and then make a decision.
If the surface at Springvale is as bad as everyone says then it would be common sense to play the top division of the league at the best neutral ground- which from what I have heard is Ben Kavanagh.

Why wouldn't the league play Division 2 finals at Mordi if it wasn't considered suitable for divi 1? Surely Clayton wouldn't be the ideal venue for divi 2??

I don't see the big deal with a team playing a final at their home ground. In the country leagues finals are played at a number of venues throughout the league, and sometimes a team is lucky enough to get a home final. Just the luck of the draw.
I believe finals football, of all divisions should be played on the best grounds available regardless of who is playing.

The surface at Springvale is terrible , it is tragedy that Division 1 finals
are being played there, it is uneven and has been levelled with sand, grass clumps everywhere, there are sandpits all through the corridor and a few balls didnt even bounce last week, unfortunately the league have got it wrong with the choice of venue, the bottom line is both sides will have to adjust on Sunday. We all knew the drought would affect the grounds and I guess with Springvale moving to Cranbourne, the ground wouldnt have received any work like in previous years

New drought resistant turf will be layed on the Monday after Grand Final, as far i know not any other clubs put in for Division 1.

As i understand it any club can bid to host the finals, example Mordy bid to hold the div 3 finals, maybe they didn't bid for the div 1 or they didn't bid enough.

Mordys ground would be average to good at the moment at best, the centre is to hard and the cracks are starting to widen up, i looks like the pitch area hasn't been watered for a while, the grass needs to be cut infront of the home team rooms where is grows in clumps. I know you can't play finals at grounds like Dandy or Cerberus but they both had magnificent grounds this year.

This is just my opinion

springydist,

Isnt that because Springy put up $12,000 up front to host the finals then anything made on top is profit??

Most clubs simply cant afford it.

Atmosphere and facility wise I reckon that Weatherall Rd or Mordi would be the best place for Div 1 finals (but i am a bit biased on that!!)

I would check and see what the council are proposing, more than likley they will lay couch, but you also want to get it oversown with rye, there is a topic on this on the MPNFL website, some grounds that are worse off this year after being done.

Our ground is getting done as well.

Who gets the gate take? league or club?

With a big crowd the club should make some good profit on food and drinks, over the four weeks.

Imagine Stkilda had a guy coaching them that knew what he was doing?

St kilda had more of the scoring shots, did they squander opportunities or was it forced upon them by St Pauls.

I also noticed that Hassan kicked 5, it looks as though he's saving his best for when it counts.
