Have to disagree with Houston coach of the year- near anyone could of coached that team to a premiership. St Kilda, if they had a coach would not of been touched throughout the whole season. I thought the guy from Tooronga Malvern did a very good job with the team that he had, plus coming from 2nd Division.
Mimo not getting in the team of the year is the biggest load of horse p!ss I have ever heard. Rate him above Casset for sure, absolute gun.

In reality I would think footy in general at local level is in doubt, if the water restrictions tay in the grounds will be shot by about Feb /March
I would be amazed if we started before May

Hassan not a gun? Get a copy of the 3 finals clearly the best player in the comp, couldnt make best 22?

The state government has committed to no increase in restrictions until June 30 2008 with special exemptions to be ongoing for sporting grounds, so i think we should be OK

I wouldn't say Hassan was clearly the best in the comp but definitely an absolute gun and one of the best players for sure. Very stiff not to make the 22 but then again he wouldn't be the only player who was stiff to miss out.
I would be interested if someone could post the team to see who made it in ahead of Hassan before I make too many comments.

Remember he missed 3 games through suspension and if he had a few quiet games that's 1/3 of the season missing. Certainly his finals series proved what a quality player he is, but the team would have been picked on regular season only I assume? I think he was stiffer to miss BOG in the GF.
You would hope he would rather his premiership medal over all of these though, so probably doesn't really matter.

That doesn't help the grounds that aren't being watered at the moment. I'd say we should all be praying very hard over the summer for some heavy rain if we wanna be playing football next season. Maybe the higher divisions might be ok, but the lower divisions i think will be struggling.

I would think that Skye would be playing due to there ground having the Recycled water plant next door??
Could it be a case of maybe just 1 division with teams that are able to play, example skye, cantebury st kilda city etc etc because there grounds are ok???

Could be very interesting if some teams grounds become unplayable. Have been down to Chelt for a kick, and excuse my french but but half the ground is f&%ked- and that is a Division 1 ground. Mordi has probably held up the best over the whole season. Lets hope we can get a good summer of rain to get things going for all clubs.
I was down at the MPNFL GF yesterday, and Dolphin Park is an absolute disgrace- the grass is brown and near dead on the whole field.

But what i am saying is that if only 14 teams were able to play next year i would say recruiting for skye wouldnt be that hard would it?? Think about it, either you play for skye or you dont play at all!! on a 1 year thing!!
Put it this way, if only the teams that havea decent ground can play next year you could have 15 teams with 90 players on the list!!
Rather than not play at all I would suggest saturdays could go like this:
9:30am 3rd or club 18 play
11:45am Reserves play
2:10pm Seniors play
wouldnt that be better than not playing at all?? if only for one year!! I know skyes ground will be fine, lets hope everyone elses is as well!!

Tipping you may have won a flag if he was in your side. Take him and Wyld and put them into the 2004 GF team and St. Pauls probably win it but, of course, that's history.

Fair call Mr Insider but,it's well known around the traps they don't pay mercenaries or blokes who are only interested in themselves.I think they have built a really good club and probably should have been rewarded for it.Cevik and Wyld are both terrific when things go there way but,when they don't they are a liability.

I would also assume if the SFL were in trouble of starting late or not at all, so would most if not all other comps knumbskull!!!
