Getting Burger to 400 in this team might take a bit of the shine off his fantastic career. Ending his playing days, getting to 400 in a losing side, he offers leadership (needed) however he would be taking the spot of a player. I'm not so sure the he would want it this way.

I don't agree, this side takes nothing off his career, finishing in the brown and gold is all that matters.

What I think would take the shine off reaching 400 is doing it through the medical sub rule. If he finished up on exactly 400 and got there by essentially spectating a few games you can't exactly say he played 400 games.

I was just thinking getting silk to 400 will probably be the best thing about this year.

I think I said last week or perhaps the week before that it's all I'm looking forward too this year. Don't like his chances of celebrating with a win but I hope he brings the house down with a trademark silky goal.

The way the team is travelling i think he should be first picked.

Leadership and class is absolutely required every week.

No point in gifting games to battlers when this guy could help us without getting a touch.

Get him to 400 and also give him a big retirement game at the end of the year.

Much better for player development to play with an all time great than to get belted with the other kids and "prime of career" guys like howe and Obrien.

He may even retire at 400. He's absolutely cooked.

Think if they can get him in the field either down back or forward in an onfield teaching role can only be beneficial to players who at the moment are getting their confidence destroyed.

Because from the couch and I’m happy for this to be corrected, there seems to be a decided lack of direction and leadership on the field at the moment.

now there’s no hodge out there and I understand we may never see the like again, but we would all recall him constantly yelling direction down the field or getting across to a player and talking to them either celebratory or a chin up moment and he wasn’t alone in doing that.

Is Silk a guy that can do that to help these boys out

Correct. Burgoyne is desperate to get there and Clarkson and the medical staff are all focused on making sure he does. Incredible effort and will be the high point of this season. Reckon he will be the sub this week, putting him on track to hit 400 v Port.
