Should Richmond Merge with Fremantle??

Their team is playing poorly, supporters are unhappy, and finals are light years away. With this embarrising performance by the limp and lame tigers we are obviously going to see heads roll. But is that enough??

Should Richmond merge with another team such as Fremantle, and become the Western Tigers? Membersip will surely not increase after that dismal display. Honestly, its the sort of scoreboard you would expect from a under 17's Flinders Island Grade Z match, not the tough, uncomprimising game that is the australian football league.

Terry Wallace will be sacked- Richmond like baying for their own blood. But I think if they really want to save Richmond they have to do what Fitzroy did and merge with Fremantle- who are a relatively new club? That means that membership, money and their better players can play in a team that won't be on 150 point regular hidings.

I hope the Tigers like Fremantle.

I think if Richmond were to merge with anyone, a better fit would be with Melbourne, playing out of the MCG, and called Melbourne United so as not to be confused with the basketball team.

But, I think there's a few years and possibly a couple of earlier mergers/relocations before this would ever happen if it ever actually did.
