Don't think too many clubs were for the increased sunday games. Think it was a league idea. Possibly due to the umpire shortage, allowing the same umpires to do two games over the weekend.
 
Crap idea. I understand that without the umpires we don't have a game but with the sunday games it hurts every clubs bottom lines. Very hard to get any supporters to an after game function on a Sunday night. One or two Sunday games can mean $3000-$5000 less to the clubs coffers. Money that we all need to keep our clubs surviving.
Reckon that there'd be quite a few reserves players not willing to give up a night of the grog either.

You certainly could go and play somewhere else or you could hold your ground. Other people have played in losing sides and been all the better for it. This is a call to arms for you blokes. Some of the fellas you have been playing footy with over the last few years are pretty selfish people but I wouldn’t have thought you were one of them. The under 17s need to start doing the boundary, helping at functions, and generally be better club men.

us 17s last year did do the boundry on a number of times helping out were we could im sure if scotty d wasnt moveing he would be at diggers but its a bit hard to travel 2 hours everyweek if you dont have a drivers license.

Where do I sign up as one of these? I f*&^n hate Sunday games. Even against Stawell. THe tossers all stay away from the pub on the saturday too-so I can't even get up em the night before the game.

Yep Sunday games suck but would you rather have a club umpire decide a close game with a bad call!!!!!!!

where i used to play-we had club umpire through the year for everything except the firsts-it wasn't too bad. you'd get the occasional thief, but most blokes were decent.

I see the Diggers have lured a few players back to the club - Tim Friend, Liam Offer and Matt Williams plus Nigel Snibson.
Doesn't quite offset the loses of Mibus, Combe, Lovel et all, but a start. Mal Adams sticking it out with the mountain men?

Huge call dela. Not sure if you blokes can stop the demons juggernaut just yet. Remember your starting from long way back. Stawell will be a top side again. The dirty rats will keep improving. Warrack have an improving list with kids maturing plus a couple of handy signings. The Saints can only improve with another preseason into their kids and the pick up of Butch and maybe a few more.

Thats the only change i will make but i can see the rodents sneaking in the 5 especially with the young talent they have there (unless there is a few departures as that is what I am hearing from a few people down that way). It will be hard to see anyone knock off the demons
