Im afraid (and i didn't wanna have to say this) but excuses about 4 quarters, the gameplan are just excuses because we simply have not got the players at the moment to take us to the next level!!!

We haven't got the discipline to be a good side, we don't work hard to make position we have no workrate in the side at all!!!! We are a shambles!!

Too many players want to fly and do the defensive thing - how about being smart and waiting for the ball to come down back into play!!! How many times today did Adelaide run the ball out because 4 Roos players were contesting in the air while johncock, hart etc. said thankyou i'll just clear the ball!!!!!

Too many times we let the ball out of a contest - hardly ever did Adelaide just fling the ball out of a contest they had numbers around the ball and held the ball in while they set up for the next play - when we got the ball in close we tried to fling it out, take the tackle and hold it in it's weak football!!!

Alot of players including the likes of Harvey, Simpson etc. took a backward step today when they were within inches of the ball absolute weak football it was!!!

We have no foot skills in the side bar Wells, Archer, Gibbo etc - we can't use basic football skills which doesn't take us a long way in winning football games - we moved the ball to half way and sat and waited - why can;t we just bomb it in long, take a risk, get players into the side like Thurley etc and crumb off Thompson, Hale, McIntosh, Rocca - it's a simple game when you have the discipline to work for your teammates - i told you the club is in turmoil, players don't look one bit interested in the club succeeding and the selection panel must put a stamp on some senior players and take some risks with some other guys - unless our game-plan makes radical changes in the next few weeks we are toasted - and the thing that saddens me most is when we were challenging in the second quarter we had so many oppurtunites foiled by pathetic skills and stupid decision making - if you can't hit a bloke lace out on the chest from 20 metres sorry my friend you should not be in the side

When u have:

Brady "couldnt hit a cows backside with a banjo" Rawlings

Drew "lead hard to spill mark and fall down" Petrie

and

Johnny "what the farrrk am i doing here" Hay...

What do you expect..

Now B-Rock, that was funny!! Harsh on Drew but fair on the rest.

I HATE the way we play footy now, HATE IT!!

We just haven't got the skills to play this type of footy, now I'm not saying we haven't got the players, we have some talent but we are not playing to our strengths. We are trying to play this stupid style of footy that is the rage now and we are not capable of it.

And our backline is a joke.

Our backline will play a lot better when the midfield makes an attempt to win some of the football and man up on their men.

Amazing how 'man up on thier men' somehow sloooowed the 2006 Grand Finalist down. I don't think it's just that element either, running in two's & three's and backing up your teammate helps also but I must admit, I was PROUD the way we fought it out in the last three quarters, Crows flooded and North just coughed up with poor skill. I also think Neil Craig saw North as a DANGER game and to pay 'RESPECT' by playing committed relentless footy against us, the 'intense' standard of the game along with the clinical skills from the Crows were as close to first rate to the vintage stuff of the 90's IMHO. North will roll 'lazy teams' with today's passionate effort. I think alot of ppl can't distinguish the difference to today's losing effort (last 3 quarters) vs the first 5 rounds.

It's not the players.
Not saying we have a premiership list but players like Grant couldn't have forgotten how to play footy overnight. The problems are deeper.

WTF Is wrong with Hay. How can someone play AFL Football, and not have the confidence to kick..

look I don't want to be defending him, but most of the time, he gets it, looks up and there's no one to kick to so he kicks or handballs back to the guy who gave it to him. Our gameplan FWIW is a COMPLETE Fxxxxg SHAMBLES.

Adelaide on the other hand run to create options while we just stand around spectating or pointing to team mates.

Alot of people want the problems to be deeper....stop mucking around and start your 'sack jyd' thread and get it over and done with.

then when u figure out it only takes a couple of players to not pull their weight to kill a game plan, then u can work your way up, or better still, watch some footage of when Kennedy and Schimma where coach.....

Although the above comment may be partly correct. I disagree. Maybe some players have to play better. But the gameplan obviously is not a good one. I mean 2-5. And when we have lost, we have lost big.. Exceptions to melb and wc games. If we were loosing by margins under 20, i would say a few adjustmets needed. Margins this big, ill look @ the coach!

Don't worry, the sack JYD thread is not far away.

And when it comes, he will have earned it.

His game plan and player developement are poor.

His list management has been average at best.

We are a 5 goal worse side than we were last year.

There is no doubt to me that the problem does indeed lie deeper.

Players like grant & harvey DO NOT 4get how to play the game.

The best thing that could have happend yesterday wld have been for us to actually get beaten by 100+ pts so that ppl would start to question exactly what is going on down there.

The 'Sack Dean Laidley' thread is only as far away as the search function.

Laids' press conference said it all:

"If we don't play 100% savage, then we are going to get beaten, and beaten badly".

We have a lazy team. And either the coach doesn't know how to get the players up for match day, or our players don't give a sh*t. I bet its the latter. Not suprisingly its the older players not giving a red hot go (ie. the ones that already have been involved in a premiership).

and thats why sacking and blaming the coach is pointless.

the players have an ATTITUDE problem and that is it. u only have to look at the first qtr to see it.

if anything, dean has been to soft on them - nothing like a 6am training session to spark em up.
