Gerard Whately is a boring fence sitter.

He quit footy at under 10s and yet is allowed an opinion on the AFL lol

While it's true, I think the AFL media needs someone like Whateley to present things objectively and ask the right questions. There aren't too many ex-footballers who can pull that off.

Plus he's a good foil for someone more "emotional" in their analysis.

I sort of see Whateley a bit like Huddo - well informed and professional.

He was a twat but had his own opinion AND wasn't just trying to be a shock jock like Cornes.

He doesn’t care who you are, he calls it as he sees it

He also gets nervous during interviews with heavy hitters.

When interviewing Danger on SEN, he lets Dangerfield get away with a free pass.
