Smokeys for 2008 National Draft

To be considered a smokey you can't be attending Draft Camp.

I reckon Matthew Notman is a smokey. He played for the Western Jets and would have been in their top 5 this year.

About 180cm and a utility but mainly mids.

Rohan Bail - 20 year old trialled with Essendon last year. Picked up the Qld rising star which is selected by a panel with a few recruiters on it and has as one of it criteria potential to play AFL football. He also picked up third in the AFLQ's Syd Guilford medal and 4th in the Grogan Medal. He was also amongst Qld's best in senior company against WA earlier in the year.

Yeah Nahas was a dominant youngster in the VFL this year, a forward player with great skills, works hard and is like a Stevie Johnson with some freakish things.

Robin Nahas-
Robin had a good season for Port Melbourne in the VFL. He kicked 50 goals from 23 games rotating through the midfield,HFF and FP, often with a heavy tag. Was named in the best players on 7 occasions this year in a side that made the grandfinal, also won the Fothergill/ Round medal for most promising young player in the VFL.

Position: Ruckmen/ forward with the ability to play Adam Goodes type tall wingmen.
Only been playing the game since 2006 (soccer convert) so is learning the game as he goes but has developed good tap skills on both sides of the body, a raking 55-60m kick, a huge tank for a ruckmen and abiltiy to go forward and kick goals. Would be a good cheap pick up for a club with limited ruck stocks. This kid has potential by the bucketload (plus he is almost fully developed being age 20)

Yes de la salle boy im pretty sure. he is around 178-180cm, was unlucky not to be at dc but he could have been given a state screening not 100% sure though. deserves it. has had clubs talking with him mid year. has poise around contests and a desire to win the hard ball. a sam mitchell/luke hodge type.

Wow sounds pretty good. Ive seen him play before in the ACC Grand Final except he had a shocker and also got smacked in the nose, had to wear tape over his head all day. Could be a smokey. Few other delas i rated quite highly, Xav Gotch, Jack Purto??, Jack Gray, Nathan Gray(related to Jack?), Timothy Allan and Steven Muller. Muller would fit quite nicely down at the tigers they need a tall forward/backmen. What do others reckon?

i agree. muller can play forward or back. predominantly played as a back with the sandringham dragons and up forward for de la. a key position prospect especially with his suprising agility and speed off the mark. jack gray is not related in any way with nathan but both very talented too. m. decadoro looked likely acc grand final day aswell? what u think?

didnt thhink they were related lookd nuthn alike. Liked Jack's game though. Good height for AFL footy bit skinny though.
