So our Turkish friend, may be ask you a question of philosophy? One I'm asking myself.

Would you rather us make a Grand Final and potentially win but also potentially lose in a heartbreaking manner Or lose earlier and not make the Grand Final?
Personally I would prefer not to make a grand final rather than make it and lose it.
This year was a bit different because making the grand final meant we beat those tosser arrogant tigers flogs.
The joy I got from last week was honestly up there with a grand final win.

But under normal circumstances with hindsight I would rather lose the prelim than the GF

Just wait till we cop our first pre season injury. Don't forget there are several players unavailable next year and yet others in need of a medical miracle to restore their former health. We need to recruit resilient skillful types with a bit of height. Sorry, just thought your yang needed a yin.
Sell a midfielder for some height.

Should be the m/o.

Yep, the football Gods can eat a fat, sweaty, smelly, hairy one.

If your team was up by 29 points, and lost. Is it a choke or not?

Don’t beat around the bush. It is, what it is.

Bloody rediculous. 5 goals is nothing in today's footy with 3 quarters to chase it down.

Yeah, a bit harsh to say we choked. After quarter time, we were out played and if we choked, we wouldn't have been in the game to the finish.
We needed just a little bit of luck with some of the umpiring and the result would have been different (seems such a cheap excuse to blame umpires, but it really felt we missed plenty of critical calls).
Don't read too much into the terminology I use.
Just pointing out that I am sick of losing them.
I've seen us lose too many. It used to be disappointing, now it just schitts me.

Sucks but IF Eagles kicked straight in last Qtr we would of Lost by 2-3 Goals. and Outside of Start they out played for 3 Qtrs

Sad to see us lose like that but I say the Better Team Won and they have had our Number in all 3 Games.

Was Super Pissed after Win but after bit of Relflaxing I felt proud how we went this season. Miles better then I ever thought.

Plus getting that close to a Flag with not being close to our Best Team is a Huge Effort.

Some Players I think be Disappointed in there game today and they where

  • Grundy - Still a Huge Fan but Vardy and Lycett did a number on him. They did the Same thing vs Gawn last week and I think that is the Biggest Reason they won the Flag as there Rucks stopped Grundy and Gawn Influence
  • JT and Miocheck - Tried Hard but thought both was Beaten
  • Pendles - Does not look like the player he used to be 1-2 Seasons Ago
  • Cox - Yes Kicked 2 and Took some marks late but out of that was Quiet

Here are the Players I was very Proud Of"

  • Mayne - I was a Massive Critic this time last year but I really thought he played well
  • Adams - Massive Game and was our Heart and Soul
  • Sier - Was Patchy but did some really classy things
  • Stephenson - Excitment Machine but being a Rookie was bit Skinny/Not Strong Enough to have more of a Influence
  • Langdon - Disposal gets me Worried but was Huge taking Marks late in the Game

Though the loss was a Typical Collingwood GF Loss - Getting Pipped

One of your very best TD.. maintain the faith

Even though they dominated for large parts of that game,we still could have and should have won that game.So many lost opportunities in. the last ten minutes or so.WHE’s goal that was touched,Cox not making the distance from 40 metres out,Miochek’s mark not being paid,Adams missing a snap from only about 15 metres out.If just one of these had gone through we would have been more than a goal up and it would have been game over.Oh well, such is life.It always seems to be the way with us,always so close but not close enough.

I'm just thankful now I succumbed to the pressure with 5 minutes left, hit the record button and turned off the television.

I couldn't have coped seeing us lose in such a manner live at the game or on tv and hope to never witness that winning goal.

File deleted.

Game was lost when they started kicking long. The Eagles are beaten with Running and handballing. They are stocked with tall marking types. Their players are not very fast. When we ran and handballed we looked great. But for some stupid reason, we started kicking long to basically nobody giving them intercepting mark after intercepting mark. And I don't understand why we kept doing it. Don't kick it to McGovern... just run past him. He is not chasing anyone down.

Regarding the runner incident.
Didn't bother me at all at the time and still doesn't now.
Schitt happens.
Personally for me it's a non issue.
Can you blame the poor guy? Four knee recos and first chance to be part of a GF. Probably thought if Umpire Carey could get to mark the ball, so could he (kidding). Collectively we lost. Not him. Error at the time. But we had our chances too.

Hoping with at least half a dozen A grade recruits coming back in next year, our depth and form will carry us into another finals series and hopefully our turn for redemption.

Excuse me visiting your forum folks. Just wanted to offer my sincere commiserations on today’s result. As someone who went through the pain in 2009 & 2010 I sympathise with you. I’ll be a Sainter for life, however I have beloved family members and dear friends who barrack for the Pies, and today (for one game only) I was barracking with them! Your club played its part in an absolute cracker of a Grand Final, you should be rightfully proud of that effort.

The blueprint of this side is our team defence. And today, it nearly won us a flag. Bucks has built a great defensive structure and I have faith in him and this group. Imagine a fully fit Shazza who I feel is important for us, Elliot (still improves us immensely), Moore/Reid and the improvement of Sier, Adams (still a little more improvement left in him), De Goey, Stephenson etc, the future looks so so bright

Darcy Moore will help deliver that flag...
I would love that JB.
I thought Didak was a bit of a flog but that didn't stop me enjoying what he did on the ground.
If, or as TD would say, IF Darcy can get fit and realise his potential whilst wearing the black and white, then I will be over the moon.
If he is a consistently well performing show pony then I want him to be our consistently well performing show pony.

Goldsack is clearly undersized and under skilled to play on Kennedy. Everyone and their Grandma can see that. The arrogance is to go in with that matchup knowing this, and assuming you'll just cover for that against arguably the best forward combo in the comp.

Moore on Kennedy.
Goldsack on Darling.
Simple.

To think we would just manage with Goldsack on Kennedy and cover elsewhere on Darling was foolish and arrogant.
Not having a go at you MM but that is easy to say in hindsight.
If whoever it was that kicked that arsey goal to win them the game had missed and we had won the game I think you would be playing to a different tune.
Selection was correct. The coach backed the group that got them there (beating the premiership favourites along the way)
