So who won trade week!?

You are joking right?

You received 2 list plodders from GWS in 2014 and 4 more this year

You are GWS graveyard B Grade players

Melbourne picked up Bugg who is way ahead of any of those players and Pies Treloar, yet you are happy??

Geelong has done very well, if Pies can get Aish close second if not equal

Who knows mate Clape, Hogg, Rice were cloggers that won a flag
Josh Kennedy, Richards, Shaw, Grundy, Pyke were cloggers that won a flag

Hawthorn. They managed to not to lose any of their premiership players because of trade week, have two picks in the top 20 for letting go someone they hardly played and will probably do something tomorrow that will only appear genius to the other 17 clubs just before the finals in 2016.

Collingwood also, but I do have doubts about Howe...

I think Carlton has done alright considering they're rebuilding.
Geelong got what they wanted, so a success for them.
Adelaide did well, added what they needed to whilst having 2 first round picks.
West Coast, a couple of very handy recruits.
Also think Gold Coast have done quite well for themselves.

Mate, I would love to see Tigers, Pies, Ess and Carlton up there in the finals, nothing boils my blood than these 4 going at it

But I 'll be as honest here as I can, these players just won't cut the mustard, but happy to be proven wrong, as I am not one to dwell on others misfortune and as much banter we give each other, SOS should not rush trades and fill your list with questionable players

Those Blues players you mentioned above played in great sides and filled the gaps nicely (Rice was easily the pick, pity his son chose otherwise)

Really happy with what Essendon have done.

Pick 25 for Melksham
Pick 5 for Carlisle we couldnt have done any better.

Leunberger for free (bit of coin)
Bird for chips will do more than pick 44 does from this draft.

Id say Geelong, Fremantle and Essendon are the big winners so far

Hawthorn. They managed to not to lose any of their premiership players because of trade week

I thought that suckling had won a premiership.

Should be less of, Who won trade week? and more of Tell us why your team won trade week...

The biases and prejudices around here are hopeless...at least drop the pretence of expecting posters (generally) to be able to discuss things objectively...

Carlton picked some good picks and got good value for the players going out. But they have got some modest inexperienced talent in (barring some rough diamond) which is a pretty worrying trend, shed a lot of experienced players.(on top of Robinson, Betts, Waite, Garlett, now Henderson, Yarran, Bell ) the GWS crew are pretty light on experience, Carazzo, Judd retired.

The immediate future of Carlton is pain. Really going to be a total rebuild, it's going to take a lot of good decisions, this draft should see some good talent come in, but they will not competitive 2016/2017. Hard work, good drafting, great player development and they could a mid table mediocre side if things go well for them in 3-5 years.

Geelong win for me clearly, think we have done pretty well also.
Port have done ok, probably a little overs for Dixon but still good

Personally I really like Melbourne's, Essendon's, Geelong's, Collingwood's, Brisbane's........ So many teams I think would be really happy.

I think with the amount of trades and silly season on points, a lot of teams won.

Lost, I would say the Swans (trading a first round pick for a club to take bird), Richmond (teams around them have improved, and they got townsend) , Fremantle (really needed a forward, but Bennell was a good get), GWS (offloaded dead wood but I don't get their pick trading)

I reckon a lot of teams will walk away happy, and a lot of fans.

3- 5 years of pain... followed by one or two of their youngsters showing some talent and requesting a trade to a top 8 big club once their first contract is up.

After Carlton's trades, the end result to our list could end up looking like,

Henderson > Tomlinson
Bell > kerridge
Menzel > plowman
Yarran > lamb, sumner

+ Phillips, pick 21, pick 8

I'm happy with ports effort. If you discount minor pick upgrades/downgrades and picks we can't use, then we've basically traded 10 & 2016 2nd rounder for Dixon and Toumpas.

On the surface Adelaides done well given Dangerfield going, and Essendon seems to have gone ok.

On the other end carltons had a shocker. Quantity over quality.

Essendon got absolutely maximum value for Carlisle and Melksham and then picked up a free agent ruck. It's hard to argue with that.

Now I have no idea if they are rebuilding or retooling or what they really want to do with the picks and it might be a weak draft. But they have a strong hand.

I like what Brisbane and Adelaide have achieved in adversity. At the same time Geel and Coll were dealt a strong hand in attracting players and have both done really well not to over pay too much.

Not sure why Sydney couldn't get better out of their pick 14 in the Carlisle deal. Surprised the Hawks have found a salary cap and haven't landed someone but very worried about what they'll do next year. And Richmond need to get Yarran for pick 19 done.

I think the blues have done a great job compared to prior years. Last year we lost Robinson and Garlett for pick 60 because of mick Malthouse. This year we have lost some good players but I would say we have won in almost all trades.
Henderson out for pick 8
Bell out for pick 21
Menzel out for 5 players.
Yarran wait and see, but I like the club playing hard ball pick 12 it is probably overs but he is contracted and that is what Richmond have and they want him.

Yeah agree can't really understand Sydney unless they have made a deal that Essendon won't bid on Callum mills with pick 4 or 5 and they need to get rid of Craig bird as he probably was on 350k and they don't see him near there best 22 when they plan on bringing in Dunkley and mills two more midfildes

Geelong
Collingwood
Melbourne
I would have had st Kilda right up there until a current affair screened
The bombers have done better since a current affair screened
