Everyone will get the chance to contribute to this, theres certainly no rush. We've got to give the club some time to digest all thats happened and let the dust settle a little bit. We wouldnt be the only one that has put an offer in to donate something, put something together etc.

Not sure if this idea has been suggested already, but something the club could do to honour John would be to replace the 1870 on the back of the jumper with JMac for next season, and no one to wear the number 35 next year either.

I'm sure the club will come up with an appropriate tribute. One thing I've aways been against is the concept of "retiring" guernseys/numbers. I know basketball do it, but I've never liked the idea.

To me, the guernsey and its number, belong to the club and not an individual. Those lucky enough to wear a PAFC guernsey are temporary custodians of a piece of the club. As sad and tragic as the untimely passing of a PAFC players is, the guernsey and number should always live on.

It may be a while before another player wants to wear #35 but, one day, another young man will add his name to the long list of names that have worn it with pride.

As you know Rory, the New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft lost his wife to cancer before the 2011/12 season. She was close to many of the players and they did stuff for her through the New England Patriots Charitable Foundation and the Robert K. and Myra H. Kraft Foundation, so they requested that the NFL let them wear a patch on their jersey above their hearts with her initials on it MHK (ie Myra Hiatt Kraft)

Maybe both Port and Collingwood next year could wear a similar patch either JSM or JMac. He was as much a Collingwood player as he was Port's.

Nah. If you do a google search there are hardly any pics of him playing and most of the good ones are too small/low quality to blow up and put on a wall. Shame. Pete might have one?
