I wanted to nom Yesterday as a dedication to you.. shame though, I wanted to nom The Beatles' version as that in itself is considered acoustic.

I've never liked the acoustic version of Layla. For me, it takes away what makes the original such a classic. From Clapton's intense vocals and an incredible guitar solo from Duane Allman and the piano-led outro to uninspiring guitar-work where Clapton just sounds like he's going through the motions.

I'd heard the acoustic one many, many times before I realised the original ever existed. But I still agree pretty much 100% with everything you just said.
