Re: Rich Enuff - clearly the best form in the race but I have huge concerns over him dropping back from the 1600m to this race. Has that been done before? Have any of the past winners come straight out of either Guineas? (Thinking maybe Weekend Hussler?).

Given that I would prefer to stick with those that have had a sprint preperation which leaves me with Earthquake.

Weekend Hussler the only one I can remember. Brained them too that year.

Whoever can get on with Ladbrokes/Bookmaker or Bet365, take the $9.00 Lord Van Percy in the Lexus. I can't get on because I am barred with all (both) of them, but if you can, good luck to you, it's overs and he'll start shorter. KardiniaPark you've probably got a free bet with them you could use I imagine?

I wrote this earlier but id much rather be on Eloping at $21 compared to Earthquake at $7. Flogged Tawteen 2 starts back (admittedly at level weights) compared to Eathquake scrambling in last start.

Dont think that form is the A grade 3 yo form anyway. Couldn't touch the $7 with your money.

Had a little nibble on Eloping myself EW at 26/7 @sportsbet. Can't see Earthquake challenging even with the weights, just struggling to reproduce her 2yo form. Not without a chance of a place, but can't see her getting the better of RE or Kuro

Can't understand how Abduction is favourite in the Wakeful, Fontein Ruby should be <$3

Really like Abduction but they haven't missed her, I thought she would be more like $6, her last run was very good, much better than it reads on paper, She will love the Flemington 2000 and comes back from 58kg, there is a bit of Kirramosa about her for mine.

Fontein Ruby the one to beat but Abduction will go close.

I've got FR just ahead of Abduction but neither overs on current prices. Perhaps you haven't watched the replay of Abductions last run?

Would be a pretty stupid comment to make if I hadn't. It was a reasonable run, hardly that impressive though. Got held up for a few strides but didn't warrant starting favourite here. She was strong to the line but when you sit back on the inside and don't let down til til he final 200m your always going to be. Don't really like the form line that much either

You missed the Hipster @ $41's yesterday ;)

I was hoping they ran him last week at the Valley, I like Signoff personally, he meets them better at the weights and get the blinkers on, apparently worked in them last Saturday and the fact that they are staying on means he obviously went well, Deane Lester was very bullish about him winning this on radio last Sunday, more of less declared him, I think this has been his aim all along, win this and then into the Cup.

He is also drawn to get the lovely run, I backed Big Memory last time they met because he was going to get the lovely run, roles reversed here.

Having said that he is certainly short enough, will hopefully get out on the day.

How the hell is Side Glance not favourite in the MacKinnon!?!?

International horses absolutely dominating this Spring - two huge runs already in Australia and won the race last year. $9 is farcical - an absolute smashing EW price if ever I saw it.

Interestingly - didn't realise Faraaj had been shipped over. Unlike Amralah he is a horse I have a lot of time for, and backed him on Epsom Derby day when he smashed a high quality handicap field over 2000m. He probably doesn't have the class to win the race - but has always been enigmatic, and when right on his day can put up big numbers. Should love a firm Aussie track and might be worth a sneaky bet in case he puts it all together and shows what he is truly capable of on the day.

But if you like SG you must also like Happy Trails?

What's everyone's thoughts in Wandjina in the Carbine?

Thought he's run in the Cox Plate was pretty good up against the best WFA horses in the country, only beaten 3.5 lengths and came home hard in the Guineas from the back of the field in the run before that. Obviously has to carry an extra 5.5kg than last week but is also dropping back from 2040m to 1600m. Not sure why he is listed at $10.

I thought about him, but then decided I would go with a fresher horse rather than one that has had 2 gut busters and now has to run 3 weeks in a row. Surely this is your classic total Gai afterthought (is in Melbourne - fk it - lets just run).

Early prices that appeal to the eye:

R1 - Hi World $17
R2 - Still think Hipster Girl is overs at $26
R3 - Woodbine $7.50, super keen here
R4 - Waiting on Kuro drift
R5 - Agree with Duritz on LVP $9 and Big Memory $8
R6 - He's Your Man $6, Rising Romance $7.50, Side Glance $9
R7 - Atmosphere $11
R8 - Quayside $51 Star Fashion $15
R9 - In Cahoots $13 A Time For Julia $34 Adamantium $34

They finished essentially level in the Cox Plate, no weight change obviously, no reason to think either can go better than that day.

SG looks like getting a very good run in front here. Think $9 is value.

You have to like Lord Van Percy, form is around 2 horses that are top 5 in cup betting.
will love Flemington & should bounce off that 1st up run @ Caulfield

unusually for one of Lloyds, Amralah has been supported.
best form is around 2000m

seth

Can you get me on at the $9.00?

In fact, can anyone get me on?

10% sling of profit on bet if it salutes in the offing.
