Hopefully our midfield can get on top because we can't let the Saints hold the ball in their F50 for the majority of the game like Carlton did. We need it in to Jack quickly and he will be too good.
Yep, we need to improve quite a bit at the stoppages. It was our strength last year, so we are capable of it.

I'll take my chances and put my money on The Tiges next week, but under one consideration.
Can Deledio get that, "weight of the world on my shoulders" look off his face, and replace it with a "f..k you" look?

Good luck guys.

Thanks. I thought that Deledio played with his head up his arse. So that plus the weight of the world on his shoulders only can mean he's about to implode. Worst game I've seen him play in ages.

Hi all, sorry to drop in but I was wondering what you guys think your chances are?
Probably been mentioned before but I cant really be bothered going through all the pages!
To be honest I am slightly, only slightly worried. We were far from convincing against Geelong and had little to no attack.. Jack Riewoldt also always kicks a bag against us! Thanks!

hope dimma puts a fire cracker up them this week at taining, was disappointed with the work at the stoppages too, but this will imporve as the season progresses.

while agrees deledios game was awful, he was underdone comming in. hopefully he'll get back to himself soon. But I wish he was in the mid too. :thumbsu:

we wont be favourites comming in thats for sure! but I feel its winnable. if we improve on the stoppages from the game agaisnt carlton (we were no3 in the league last year I think) and shut down nick, and play close to milne we will come close to wining. plus yes, jack will kick another bag. :thumbsu:

i think king/white to milne, i c shutting down milne giving us the best chance to win jack will kick a bag, b.j will dominate for them roo will have a fair presence but wont kick a bag , i c us going even with there midfeild too

I'd be resting Deledio and tell him to watch Goddard's every move. He can be our Goddard, same size, great kick, great mark. So many skills that are alike.

But in all serious, start Deledio in the back-line and give him a licence to run wherever he wants to. Bring Tuck, Nason and King in For Helbig, Edwards and White. I would proberly play Nason as the sub. Tuck and be the hard body in the middle with Martin and Grigg then get the likes of Cotchin, Conca and Deledio waiting outside the packs. Looks pretty good to me. King replaces Helbig. I think we need King in the team, Look's like he could be a 30 goal a year player we are missing and shows defensive pressure.

I'd rather White than Nason, and although he can put in some shockers i would like Edwards in the team because of his flair and unpredictability

In fairness that's only because Dawson gets moved off him within 30 seconds. Kicked 6 and 7 against your mob last year....dominant!

Zac didn't play in either game

I'm tempted to add Miller to the line up playing at CHF, if he can kick 3-4 ea week he will do his job in supporting JR8 and make us a tougher proposition up forward

If there was even a slight chance he could kick 3 a game he would still be at Melbourne.

We won't win so put Astbury on Riewoldt show him what he has to aspire to beat in the future. Conca or Batchelor on Mulne would be fine by me also I would go with Batchelor first put Conca on the HBF in place of Deledio and put Deledio into the middle and tell him if he produces anything like his match against Carlton he will be having fun playing for Coburg for a couple of weeks.

All about development.

Feeling positive about a good showing next week.

Unlikely we'll have another game like last week where:

- Cotch only plays a half
- Martin has little influence (although I guess he is a chance for second year blues this year)
- Deledio has a shocker by his standards
- Foley is sick, can't get near it and needs to get subbed

These are four of our best players and there's massive upside this week for all of them.

On the flipside, we probably won't kick as straight and the Saints will be pi$$ed after last week.

Loved watching Conca and Batchelor go around. Both looked comfortable at the level and it's so good to have first gamers who do the right thing. Conc just has to learn to keep his feet and not overcommit so much - especially if he's playing on Milne!

Go Tiges!

Only one change to the St. Kilda side.... McQualter out.

massive chance for tigers this friday. our confidence will be up, as that was our best first round 1 game in ages, theres will be down and we could catch them off guard. our main boys, cotch, martin, foley and lids had a shit game. we need them to have a great game and then again we will see a whole new level. Jack will kick a bag as he thrives on playing against his cousin. the bigger the hype, the better he plays. we need tuck back in, thats one player we missed last week. helbig probably needs to play a few more games for coburg. kingy should be back in and i would love to see mr x have a run

we are in with a sniff in this one, purely on the chance that teams like the aints might be in that build up space that has them not at the top of their game, early in the season. ;)
