That cgi still holds up
I remember seeing it in cinemas and it ruined films for me for years as even years later movies still had worse CGI than Revenge of the Sith. As you say, it still holds up.

Yeah I don’t get the Filoni hero worship. All the stuff he’s being praised for is basically cheap OT fan service and coattail riding Lucas, for mine anyway. What are the odds Filoni's Mandoverse movie ends up a Disney Plus special and not in cinemas? Yes, Mando season 1 and Grogu was a massive pop culture success but the quality appears to be declining, viewership as well, Boba Fett was terrible. Maybe he's not the successor to George Lucas people think he is. If Ahsoka and Skeleton Crew fail to break out big (and if they fail to offer something unique and just continue to follow the same plotline, I can see viewership continuing to decline), then I can see it becoming too small for cinema.
So, Star Wars movies are on the move again, though this time through no fault of their own. Writer's strike has meant shifts for Star Wars, Marvel and Avatar movies. The three movies had been scheduled for December 2025, 2027 and 2029.
The good news... Star Wars is back in May, with the first film pushed to May 2026 and Avatar taking the December 2025 slot. The bad news... they seem to have learnt nothing about too much Star Wars too soon and are saying the second film will follow six months later in December 2026 and the third in December 2027. This really only makes sense if one of those films (Filoni's Mandoverse, perhaps) goes straight to Disney Plus. The December 2029 slot is no longer free either as it too goes to Avatar.
It also seems Taika Waititi's movie is still on the go, which means there are four in development, in total.
Yep. Dumb. Should go May 2026, December 2027, May or December 2030 (whichever is available). Three films. That doesn't seem like overkill and I'm sure they could get three done well by then if the groundwork is laid now.So, Star Wars movies are on the move again, though this time through no fault of their own. I don't mind May for nostalgia reasons, but it is a crowded market (Disney moved Fantastic Four to May 2026, so the film only gets a couple of weeks to itself, plus whatever other studios are putting out). December at least usually has some breathing space and holidays for a long run. If Avatar is owning December 2025 and 2029 (and why wouldn't it get priority, given how much money each movie has made), that still leaves 2026, 2027, 2028 and 2030 available. Given they were going to have two year breaks, why not go 2026, 2028 and 2030? And if they are worried about the delay, have a Disney+ event movie in the May 2026 spot.Yep. Dumb. Eh I feel like TV has run into the ground too. Where's the hype for Ahsoka? It's ironic that Disney's failure with the sequels actually spared them more failure. The putting on a hold on movies and giving space to the TV shows has helped to reinvigorate Star Wars. Otherwise we'd be half a dozen films in now post episode 9 and fatigue and apathy would well and truly have set in.

Well Disney's model of more is more, will always do that no matter which course they take. But at least this way they've maintained the prestige of films for a bit longer.Eh I feel like TV has run into the ground too. Where's the hype for Ahsoka?
The Acolyte has supposedly been cancelled and Lesly Headland been fired from Lucasfilm
This is good news the show would probably have been full of wokeness garbage and Lesly pushing her political agenda

Rumors are flying that Star Wars: The Acolyte has been canceled at Disney following the firing of the showrunner, Leslye Headland. Cosmic Book News made the initial report based on the claims of noted leaker Doom **** with producer Kamran Pasha cited as a source.
