Going to have to rewatch rebels again

Very keen. Lothal looks great.

bUt ThEy'Re ErAsInG tHe SeQuElS.

Keen for this, hopefully bring back Finn as a Jedi - or on his way to be one - as well.

That being said with how Lucasfilm is going these days I'll believe it when it's playing in front of me.

Don't think Boyega is keen on returning is he?

Mangold's movie holds most interest. And finally something long before the Skywalker era.

---

James Mangold’s movie will go back to the dawn of the Jedi, while Dave Filoni’s will focus on the New Republic, and close out the interconnected stories told in The Mandalorian, The Book of Boba Fett, Ahsoka, and other Disney+ series. Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy’s film will be set after the events of Rise of Skywalker, and feature Daisy Ridley back as Rey as she builds a new Jedi Order.

Rey's is 15 years later which is great, give a bit of breathing room to flesh out.

Yeah I'm not sure. He's talked a bit about being a fan of recent Star Wars stuff, some I'm hoping he's up for returning.

Think he meant that literally as a fan, he's enjoying not being part of it anymore.

That'll be interesting too, how the galaxy looks then, the dynamic of it all, the politics, what threats, new villains, etc

Yeah hopefully they don't dead end it like they foolishly did with the NR era.

Kissing Rose Tico will do that to a guy.
What an unnecessary and disgusting comment.

Bring back Rose Tico for these movies too. Give her, and the rest of the cast, the same "redemption tour" as Hayden Christensen and Ahmed Best and all the previously hated actors / characters from the previously hated movies got.

When I saw the Rey film announcement, had no interest. But if Mangold is directing them I'm on board.
Different film.

Mangold is doing one about the first ever Jedi.

Rey is in a film set 15 years after the sequel trilogy.

There's also a Filoni film to cap off the Mando / Ahsoka / Book of Boba Fett / Skeleton Crew era.

This is where the fun begins.

:drunk:

TFA was average, Last Jedi was nigh unwatchable and didn't even watch the last film. I don't really bother with all the expanded films and shows, tried Mando, got bored, then the Kenobi one which got worse as it went on. It's just so oversaturated now.

Rey as a character is fine but they are gonna have to pull a rabit out of the hat at this point to impress me. And not some shit like "Somehow, Palpatine returned again"

Best thing to come out of this IP in the last few decades is Jedi Fallen Order. Better story and characters than any of the shit you'll see on the silverscreen

I think a Rey movie is a great idea. It's been 4 years since TROS. There's been a lot of discourse and analysis of that movie and trilogy and if there's going to be a way to rehabilitate that era and that character then this is it. By setting it 15 years later they've already got a massive tick from me as they can leave enough time for growth and depth of the worldbuilding in between the two films (as opposed to setting it 3 years later and really tying creative hands). Don't really see any issue with it other than from those who are militantly opposed to that era.

Or they can do what they did with TFA and just clean slate it all in a text blurb. Given they ended TROS with Rey supplanting Lukes name and home, I don't see how setting it 15 years later to have her supplant his new order with hers as anything but further slight against the character for those militant types.

I just don't see a point to have that character doing that after you made a point to have her bugger off to that remote planet everyone knows so well to hide in. Choose something new, use that as inspiration that chains got broke, family isn't ironclad and yadda yadda.

That dawn of the jedi instance with Mangold, I read those comics, those books, I love that idea for a film, kinda hope it's like asian cinema esque as it'd fit so well being more mystical.
The "fit out" movie less chuffed on as Filoni for me is a bit heart in right place but exuberance is a bit overbearing, but it could work if they nail what the New Republic is meant to represent and not just rehash the "rag tag" element every single goddamn time like mando is doing with the one competent fighter pilot and everyone else is an idiot bit. But there's enough there to work with to fill in between what mando is trying and where TFA starts.
Reys is just, I don't care almost, her character is done, it doesn't excite me, why drag her out to do what you showed that Luke failed at just to stick it in that **** are better? I have hope that Sharmeen does well, but out of the three movies, that's the one I need to be sold on as to why does it exist idea wise?

TFA, TLJ and TROS could exist, they were just bad films for me but they fit, I'm not sure Reys will as an idea just because that character has a natural end and story done, finito, gone for retirement and moisture farming.

While I don't disagree that Rey is supplanting Luke, having a young actor who can bring to life more story possibilities isn't the end of the world. And all they can do is try to repair the damage.

I believe it when I see it, far too many projects seem to fall over and die in the ass with KK in charge.

Andor season 2 is by far the most exciting thing we saw.
Ahsoka could be cool..
Mangold i’am a big fan of. Love Logan, and didn’t he make the new Indy move coming out soon? I guess they have lots of faith in him.

New film with Ray.. ugh care factor low, I was doing my best to forget all of that trilogy..

And nothing about that bone head Rian Johnson is good, here’s hoping they really put an end to his trilogy ideas.
