Great choice. Did a fantastic job voice acting the character in Rebels, lets hope the writing in the series does that justice though.

Funnily enough, told the Mrs about Thrawn way before Mando based on discussion around here, went ahead and read all the books (the two canon trilogies) . - Far away her favourite fictional character in any medium. Didn't completely love how Thrawn was presented in Rebels, but over the moon about Lars.

It's great Filoni gets to wrap up Mando and Ahsoka, kind of like an Endgame thing I guess.

I'm not ready for him to kill either or both of them though :(

If the rumours are that pedro is getting pissy of helmet cam and F&F are slightly miffed with KK for BOBF and reinserting the puppet + the whole "2 episodes are straight rips from Rangers of that you killed and forced us to integrate" then I am fine with them wrapping and walking to different.

Big if though.

Apparently the movie isn’t happening until 2029, with the Mangold one happening in 2027.

Would’ve thought the 50th year anniversary would’ve been a good time to wrap up the Mandoverse and move on after that.

Dragging it out to 2029 and beyond won’t work imo.

Only character I want to see in the future is Grogu grown up a hundred plus years later; I’d be fine with that.

Grogu is getting overrated and overexposed to the point of extreme irritation (like Baby Groot)

Would have preferred a baby Wookie/Chewie myself.

Did you mean on screen, or in terms of merchandising and seeing him on all kinds of products?

He’s actually had very little to do in the recent few episodes, just the odd cooing noise etc here and there. However in terms of pop culture, he is very well established.

Jesus, it just keeps getting worse and worse.

They've ruined Mando now (although that was obvious during the disaster that was BoBF), and now they're doubling down on their own shithouse storylines, instead of bringing more OT related content.

The crap coming out of Star Wars Celebration is just laughable, they have no idea what they're doing.

**** Disney.

I have no intrest in Daisy coming back as Rey as far as i'm concerned they reuined her after FA. Maybe if Boyega comes back as a Jedi i'll probably watch it.
Why would either one of them even need to come back though, I mean surely Palpatine can’t somehow return yet again? :drunk:

True.

Don't know why Disney want to bring back Rey fans hated her by the last film bringing her back is not going to change that imo.

Disney reuined her after Force Awakens

Because it's Disneys Star Wars instead of Lucas' Star Wars, so it can't fail as the mouse won't allow it, it's too big a property to do so. So you space it out, because a core thing the ST did was put it on a literal dime, small part of entire universe taking the entirety of a month where the PT and OT took literal years to take place. So since you went "here's 2 minutes text of 40 years of stories to be told" into that one month of not rebel traitors versus can I take your order please you then need that distance so it doesn't run into the same problems and further piss off the fanbase than the ST's did.

Core "problem" is that Reys story is either a blatant rehash or they had a previous director and writing troupe writing it, decided "eh nah" chose someone else to do so and then slapped her and that troop in so it's merely a byproduct of being new and there. So either wayfor mine at present, they relaly need to sell the idea for it to do well and one way to do that is to say bring in the maligned Rose Tico character to shine, bring in Boyega who panned his ST experience and if you then bring in those two you might as well bring in Rey and Poe and co.

And Ol Palpy can come back again, because it's somehow he returned, now it can be a taxi service from Dr Manhatton and a Watchman cross over event, as he was the one watching them.

It’s never that clear cut. Especially with such a large fan base for a 40+ year franchise. There’s plenty of fans who like Rey. Theres a whole generation of kids, young girls etc who have been introduced to Star Wars through these films.

Just like there was with the prequel generation and the OT prior to that.

There isn’t much interest at this point from myself to see the Rey storyline continue. I like as much as possible to pretend the sequels don’t exist, however the reality is that it’s going to be revisited at some point.

I’m more so curious whether this will be Episode 10? Start of a new trilogy perhaps. Perhaps they didn’t want to announce it just yet because then surely they would need to integrate Finn, Poe etc.

On a slightly different note, this was brilliant. One thing I’ve continually said Disney has at least done well is the redemption arc. Can genuinely see what this means to Hayden and thrilled for him. I imagine Ahmed Best sometime in the near future will also have his moment.

It's great that Hayden is now getting the praise he deserves.

Also wrapt for Ahmed Best getting a role in Mando he's another one that should get the recognition he deserves

I was looking at the Star Wars subreddit about what you'd do if you were put in charge of LucasFilm. I was surprised at the number of comments saying they'd erase and redo the ST. I mean, you can't do that as Carrie Fisher is gone. They should just own it and move forward, which they are. I wouldn't put this Ms. Marvel director in charge of the Rey film, though. If you want a female director, fine, but go with someone who's worked on one of Mando/BoBF/Andor before.

Also, I'd get Tony Gilroy to script doctor the films if he was interested; and you'd love his input on the action sequences. Star Wars has lost its touch in terms of strong character development and riveting dialogue. I'd have Finn as a Jedi, call that fan service if you want but it's a workable correction on what should've happened in the ST. Much more feasible than bringing back the dead: don't bring back Kylo, Luke, etc. Characters that die should stay dead.

I'd continue to run course with the Mangold film and the Mandoverse film, but for the love of god it wouldn't hurt for Filoni to consult with Timothy Zahn on story ideas. Too soon to think about any movies beyond 2029. As for the TV shows, I'd keep going with what they are but probably end Mando at season 4 which has already been written. Other spin offs can carry their way through to the Mando film; they could always appear as cameos.

I wouldn't do a season 2 of Kenobi or BoBF. Don't think they're going to happen anyway. I'd squeeze Doctor Aphra into the schedule if there's room for it; otherwise put it down as a future project 4-5 years from now. Ditto a Plagueis mini-series based on Luceno's novel. The other new shows I'd still go ahead with, and any content they wanted to use for Solo sequels I'd put into the Lando series. Get input from A.C. Crispin.

I'd revive that Star Wars 1313 game and get a good developer to take on the Knights of the Old Republic remake, and greenlight a remake of KotOR II if the first remake does well. I don't think those games need to be a like-for-like remake at all but the main story and characters should be consistent.

Might just be me but considering the Ahmed Best Jedi hurried Grogu into a Naboo cruiser I'd love for him and Jar Jar to be the ones that end up rescuing him.

That and Lars reaction highlight of SWC and the best bits about SW fandom (out of a lot bad parts).

Those last two bad batch episodes are great… such a shame the show goes through so many ups and downs

Loved the Bad Batch finale. Felt like ESB.

Holy crap. First 4 episodes were a bit like Mando this season....but gee once they got into a continuous arc and serious....it was binge worthy. No reliance on fan service either. Hope it continues the momentum into next season.
