I'm hoping its the biggest problem we struggle with- NO injuries=how to get games into__??
Some pretty handy trades for other clubs also, so I doubt were the only fans feeling bullish, but...has anyone checked there is room in the trophy cabinet for another cup?

You don't think that Gibcus is even worth an emergency spot?

In my opinion, if we want to develop Sonsie properly, he gets a spot in the best 23 each week (if fit).
He will be one of our top liners in a couple of years, especially when Cotchin retires.

They’re knocking down the Jack Dyer stand to build the new trophy room

So much depth and talent overall. Going to be a hard team to get into if everyone is fit and firing. Good luck to the selectors come RD 1

the elephant in the room could be the second and third year Blues.....

it happens

lets hope our expectations arn't too high as none of these young fellas are walk up starts to our best 18 yet

sonsie-solid held his own maybe even got better. should be best 18 by mid season.

cumberland-started out like a house on fire with brilliance and bloopers last couple a bit quiet. excitement machine but heaps to improve on as he will have tom stewart and maynard type match ups now

MRJ-tackling machine with some classy moves but a few calamitys too. slippery and should set himself for a stengle/bruest type season.

gibcus-looked outstanding and classy but fell in a heap. maybe a bit of burn out.
him and grimes made blunders that were really basic stuff ups.

miller-solid enough but 3 or 4 moments he'd like back. kicks like a mule and fast enough.

clarke-clever and skilled, played when not ready but showed enough.

biggie-got a sniff and went back and looks confident at vfl for now

dow-outbustled but has good enough skill and poise to make it in our best 25

hugo-flashes of great stuff, a bit soft and fumbly when the whips were cracking

mansell-had a crack but prob dosent have enough wow factor or tricks, steve morris, jake king clone.

RCD-awkward style maybe like aarts too good for VFL but nowhere near AFL standard yet, i hope tigs rookie him and give him a crack at CHB at lower level

stack-magic on his day but not enough quantity, falls over when he often tries to do too much and team mates often burnt.

ryan - lamb to the slaughter when too raw, ready now gawn, nicnat and co will towel him up but play him against younger talls for a few and he will hold his own.

Not yet…There’s an inkling that Syd will be de-listed and then re-rookied…
I’m hoping they just promote him, cos I could see a lower club pulling a Greenwood on us…
Eddie's next project down the highway?

Assuming there are no injuries come round 1, it will be very hard to pick. We almost always have injuries, so it will make it easier to select closer to the date..or at least during the year.

Richmond Round 1, 2023

Dylan Grimes, Robbie Tarrant, Nathan Broad

I would actually rather see Dusty start in the guts and then can rest forward. Get him back to his best, in the position he plays his best. We will need him all around the ground with his X factor at every contest. Taranto can be the one that primarily rotates through with lots of midfield minutes, followed by Bolton, Cotchin and Graham, towards the end of the quarters.

Ones to watch on bad form are McIntosh, Pickett, Graham, Miller. If they play a couple bad games, I would immediately bring in Sonsie as the first cab off the rank. Gibcus also deserves a spot to give Tarrant/Grimes a rest when injured. I never want to see Balta forward ever again, and same with Gibcus. Keep them as our 2 defensive pillars.
Geez I love that centreline McIntosh, Hopper, Pickett. Three blokes as hard as nails, big and strong, run all day. Mmm mm

Too many players, and across almost all positions.

Hopefully we can keep using the kids and they step up.

I suspect that the addition of Hopper and TT will change how the selectors think about things. they can not worry about contests so much and maybe try a few other ways of structuring the team.

I'm hoping some of the kids come on an make the 22 their home.

Not going to predict though, too many good older players and too many good kids.
