Soldo the obvious one, but I get the feeling that Soldo will be in the 22 and Miller will be the one missing

Not really going to respond to the premise of the post exactly, but just wanted to say geez that side is looking strong on paper. Definitely see us challenging for the premiership given the ins and in another year a couple of spots open up when Riewoldt and Cotchin and retire. We will need to replace Riewoldt in the forward line but are covered for mids when Cotchin goes. Probably will need to draft another KPD this year or next year given the following year could be the end for guys like Grimes and Tarrant.

If it comes down to MRJ or Cumberland in the round 1 team, I reckon Cumberland might just get the nod. He does a bit more scoreboard damage.

Awesome to see the depth. We will inevitability get injuries and that’s when Soldo, Graham and Sonsie will get their opportunities. Will just have to be patient, perform in the twos and stay fit. Never know what could happen.

The team is pretty good, as much as I like Ralpsmith, Broad easily gets in ahead of him. Macintosh is also a starter on the wing (short to the bench)
If as it seems we go to 5 on the bench (no medi sub), Broad and Macintosh in, and Hugo Ralpsmith an emergency

Tarrant only plays if we don't have a match up. We need to go all in on balta as a defender and back him. Short in the back line. Short, rioli combo in the hbf is a lot of meters gained.

Cumberland stays in the f50. I'll be rotating Baker and slot him in where needed during the game so he is on the interchange

Having depth on paper is one thing, choosing the best side week in week out is another. We saw this season the match committee was pretty slow to make some calls on players that had dropped off. And it cost us games. I think the match committee is one of the areas in need of change.

Any team that doesn’t include Cumberland in the forward line is ridiculous. Baker can start off the bench if needed

I have no doubt Riewoldt , Tarrant , Grimes , Cotchin will be used sparingly and rested during the year
Even Pickett , Broad and Vlastuin should be rested for 1-2 games injury permitting

Could see them rolling with:

Taranto. Bolton. Graham.
Lynch. Martin. Riewoldt.

Even Gibcus or balta might be squeezed in depending on match ups and what they want to do.

Stranger things have happened than ross or sonsie getting a game too.

MRJ and Cumberland are great but it'll be hard to get a game

Miller is picked as the second ruck I'd suggest, Short may well be a true utility player who can roll through either the backline or the midfield as part of rotations.
