Every single person who has had anything to do with him say he is a person of the highest quality.
Yeah I've heard nothing but positive things about him over the years. It says a lot that they were reportedly going to announce his absence as 'managed' but Coniglio was happy for his omission as a result of poor form to be out in the ether.
Sends a strong message to the group that everyone is accountable, no matter their title.

I happen to think it’s great leadership. But I know others disagree.
Everyone goes through form slumps. It’s quite funny that so many people on here have been saying for two years that Adelaide should have dropped Tex. When a club actually has the balls to do it, they seem to wanna change their philosophy.

I listened to Camerons post game interview, he was ropeable with the midfield.

Maybe he is making a statement, no-one is getting a free ride no more, ship up or get out.

Well Tex is old and past it. And plays for a team with a broken culture who have barely won a game all season.

Coniglio is a superstar in his prime who just signed a $7 million deal. And plays for a team fighting to make finals.

Chalk and cheese.

Alright being serious now, was mucking around saying he might be a campaigner. But in your opinion are there issues going on behind the scenes? The captaincy thing from 2019 does seem strange, as does the conflict which pushed Wayne Campbell out. Now 2 assistant coaches - Lenny HAyes and someone else - this week have said they’re bailing at season’s end. Think they have young families but still the overall picture is strange. J Cameron has looked quite disinterested at times this season. Tim Taranto said they’re homesick and haven’t adapted to this weird season like other clubs.

Do you have any thoughts on what is going on out west?

So only drop your captain if he has been out of form all season in a rubbish club. Got it.

Oh good. So you're deflecting again? All because you've been busted lying and making things up again. You're better than this champ.

Lying? Pretty sure the only ones saying the AFL dont meddle in GWS contract decisions is GWS supporters.

Has Kennett ever spoken out at the AFL meddling before? Why would he just make it up? We have failed to get plenty of players.

Again, more deflecting and invention of the truth. Hawthorn have repeatedly missed out on attracting talent through management of their salary cap and poor leadership, nothing to do with some fairytale that you're telling yourself about the AFL having a vendetta against the Hawks and being Giants centric. You're looking like more of a kook with each post. Move on.

Repeatedly been said to be chasing players looking for big payrises but only ever openly angry about the AFL with Coniglio.

Either the AFL did meddle or Coniglio totally played GWS and Hawthorn to squeeze a much bigger deal out of GWS than they had planned.

But its a big win for GWS anyway right. And Hawthorn's loss.

It is interesting for a mid 20s captain.

The other comparable examples tend to be players in their final season, like Woosha. Maxfield in 2005 had that curious situation where he separated from his wife and, following what would ultimately prove to be his last game on 30th April, was approved to spend weekdays in Melbourne with the kids for the rest of the season, and a few days later relinquished the captaincy (the memorable co-captain rotation, then a newish thing). Then he got a season-ending knee injury and retired at the end of that (drought-breaking) season, but was still fit enough to be a club runner afterwards. i.e. his final game was as captain, but then personal priorities and injury prevented him from proving himself as a near-the-end flag captain.

Another almost is Vandenberg in 2007. Whilst like Maxfield he had been the right pick 2 years earlier, press attention was starting to focus negatively on him during 2007 and many Hawks fans wanted him dropped. He was struggling to get out on the park, not doing much on it, and as the Hawks came good again his place in the side increasingly came into question. He wasn't going to be on Hawthorn's list in 2008.

Neither Maxfield or Vandenberg were dropped, but like Woosha they were on their last legs.
