Worth a single digit R1.

Would be picked 7 - 10 in this weak draft if he nominated.

He just turned 24, will only get better, is a genuine match winner. He's probably in geelongs best 5 players and is crucial to our list transition. We simply have a void of players in the 23 - 25 range.

People saying he's worth a late R1 are kidding themselves.

Hopefully we don't waste our $ on lesser players (like Henderson) and keep him.

I actually hope he stays at the club but the clubs he's linked to won't have top 10 picks in Richmond and Adelaide he's out of contract which puts it back into the hands of the club trading for him something as a Brisbane supporter I know well enough about.

Well now they can trade future picks getting value should be easier…

Or everyones value increased..

GO Catters

Hes easily worth a first rounder, possibly even a top 10 pick
I think his performances vary too much for that price. Don't get me wrong i'm not saying he's no good.

I'd rather go to the draft than pay that. I get how others would disagree though, picks are inflated value.

Fair enough, so let me ask this then...

What would you expect for Jake Carlisle? (yes i am aware KPP's are usually valued more highly)

I don't want to derail the thread or seem like I'm trolling but I would ask for a first rounder and steak knives/pick swap. Naturally I'm pretty bias about his value. It's going to be very interesting now with future draft pick trading.

I do think if Motlop makes a move he'll net a first though.

On exposed AFL performance I struggle with the notion that Motlop is worth less than Carlisle at the trade table. Both have questionable application on and off field.

Structural importance. Quality KPD's are very rare. It hasn't helped Jake's market value playing him forward, and he does seem like a bit of a introvert. I guess we'll see what happens.

Anyway, sorry for the derail, I hope we can both keep them.

you're keen to pay overs. the early second rounder should be sufficient.

LOL The draft motlop was in 2008 these are the late first round selections

15 Mitchell Brown Sandringham Dragons TAC Cup Geelong
16 Ryan Schoenmakers Norwood SANFL Hawthorn
17 Sam Blease Eastern Ranges TAC Cup Melbourne
18 Luke Shuey Oakleigh Chargers TAC Cup West Coast
19 James Strauss

Luke Shuey the only player.
1 in five chance of hitting a player close to the same talent minus the 7 years of development you have already put in.
Stick ya late first round picks.
They are over rated.
No trade

Conversely i think you missed a trick with Brown, i suspect he will elect for the draft again this year and be taken.
Anyway, not going to go nine rounds.

Motlop will be very interesting. If he was in this years draft I like others think he'd go top 10.

A number of clubs will offer A grade 650K 4-5yr offers which suggests a pick of that nature

Yet he's uncontracted and will choose Coll or Rich and Geelong will have to settle for a pick in the teens.

I'd swap Carlisle for motlop, both matchwinners.. we are crying out for a small forward with pace and can afford to lose buckets...perhaps dangerfield could be part of the deal...Jake to Adel...Danger to the cats...we get Motlop...all in favour?
