He really helped turn the game at a crucial moment. Outside of Hodge must have been a close second for best on ground. Fulfilled the exact role he was picked up for. Couldn't have done it in a better way.

Hodgey had a great game but i would of given the norm to Dew. He was the 1 to get them going in the 3rd and they never looked back. Great coaching by Clarkson aswell considering he was the 1 that chased Dew and he copped a bit in the media over it but hes having the last laugh now!

Has been a great pick up for you. Loved it when he kicked really long into the forward 50 to Buddy that led to the Rioli crumb and goal. It was a great play. He set up a couple as well as kicked a couple as well. Great stuff.

I was hoping Dew would get the Norm Smith, he blew the game open and I think was the catalyst that pushed the Hawks onto the win. Great effort by the Hawks, very happy the smug little team from Geelong didnt get another flag.

That was Mark Williams I believe, 3 on 2 with another geelong player coming to the contest, Stewy did the muscle work to keep the ball alive, Williams played foil and they held the ball in for a minute then goaled. Was when I knew for sure the Hawks wanted it more. Was an absolutely inspiring piece of play. I always had a soft spot for Stewy after copping an absolute hiding at Subi one day for cheering on a 60m goal he kicked against the eagles that started a turn in the match. He uses his strength well and when on I can think of noone I'd rather have kicking for goal from 55-60m. Definitely one of the major links in the Hawks triumph. Played above & beyond himself and should be very happy with his efforts.
