That is some crazy arsed bullshit. Unbelievable.
Seriously, you have to wonder WTF goes on in their heads over there that allows them to take to the pedestal and act all high and mighty???

Two words: Sore Losers!

Absolutely pathetic.

These people deserve beatings. And for an Australian to write a prissy 7 point list attacking Gilchrist is the worst of all.

Ridiculous to suggest Gillie cheated.

I hope u all arent pointing the figure at all people from the subcontinent. u do realise that India-Pak-SL comibied has about 1.5 billion people

Haha, these nuffies never cease to amaze.

I guess it was the squash ball smashing them all over the park was it?

Didn't think so :)

1) Gilchrist never used the squash ball in the past and also in any of the other 10 games prior to the finals. Did the squash ball help?

Ummm i'm pretty sure he said he used it during the entire world cup except the south african game.

Before everyone jumps on the 'subcontinent bloggers', why not jump on those bloggers that wrote from Australia?

Jerome Gasperson joined the blog from Australia: "You have very valid points and there are a few more unanswered questions that are worth pursuing further:

Such a stupid thing to even write a blog about in the first place.

Boggles the mind ...

QUOTE]

Given the name of the poster from Australia, its not much of a stretch to suggest the person concerned actually is of Sri Lankan heritage. As all people on this forum don't support Australia, nor do those among the general populace.

The blog may have a valid point, if it weren't for what we saw Gilchrist do in the test series against England this past season. Gilly could have a shotput in his glove and it wouldn't matter who was bowling, no ground would be big enough, when he's on song.

As to the very letter of the law though, there may be a case to answer, because of Rule 3 (c) (i) - "no player uses equipment other than that permitted". This would seem, on the face of it, to exclude the use of squash balls. The problem lies in gaining any relief if any protest were made. The result of the match or the tournament is not going to be reversed. Mind you, anything is possible with the one-day game which has been exposed as the manufactured farce it is. Still trying to remember the last test match played in complete darkness, where they, incorrectly, made the rules up as they went along.

Why are they hypocrites?

to accuse the aussies of cheating when there cricket teams, especially Pakistan, are a bunch of drug-cheating, match-fixing, people-beating, sexist, homophobic players who are never going to be as awesome as the Aussies!

Go Gilly Go!

1) Gilchrist never used the squash ball in the past and also in any of the other 10 games prior to the finals. Did the squash ball help?
Not sure of the relevance of this comment.

2) Gilchrist was out of form and didn't score many runs in the whole World Cup tour apart from the finals. Did the squash ball provide Gilchrist the required assistance to bring him back to form?
No, players go in and out of form all the time. Should we check his gloves every time he hits a 6 now?

3) The World Cup final was between Sri Lanka and Gilchrist (not Australia). All other in-form Australian batsmen were struggling to score except the out-of-form Gilchrist who had this squash ball to enhance his grip or did it?
Pure ignorance! Almost every player did their part, and none of our batsmen looked troubled. Just because they didn't score as fast as Gilly (who does?) that doesn't mean they were troubled.

4) Most of his shots, mainly his eight sixes, were massive and cleared the grounds. Did the squash ball help?
His sixes, which can only be scored by hitting over the boundary rope, were massive? Go figure!

5) The number of sixes hit by Gilchrist amounts to eight in the finals, compared to two in the previous 10 games. Is it because of the squash ball?
Again, all those other sixes in Gilchrist's career must've been squash ball assisted?

6) Gilchrist's average without the last innings would have been a mere 30.40 compared to the 45.30 after the finals. Did the squash ball help to boost his average?
No, but hitting 149 may have.

7) Gilchrist's strikerate without the last innings would have been 91.57 compared to the 103.89 after the finals. Again, did the squash ball provide that extra power?
This pretty much sums up the stupidity of the man.

"I am not taking anything away from Adam Gilchrist's excellent innings," Gasperson wrote.
Yes you are.
