NiceIf you come in looking like that then you’ll end up is Sam Walsh’s locker with all the other brown paper bags

Strapping Young Lad said he was training with the main group this week I thinkWhat is happening with Wingard? He’s been MIA the last month.

ankle this timeThere are 3 certainties in life.. death, taxes and Wingard missing the first 4 rounds of the season due to a calf complaint
As long as he's heathy for finals I'l settle for 15 gamesSo now Day is "more unlikely than likely" for Round 1, but is at least running.
I hope worst case is he is back at least for Round 2. I'd be hoping we could get 20 games into Day this season.
Interesting to read that we're looking to use him as a midfielder this season/next.Says here that Wingard is likely to play next week but Day not likely till after round 1.
Hawks set for major R1 boost, but rising star 'more unlikely than likely'
Star pair James Sicily and Jack Gunston are on track for a return to the field, though Will Day's recovery is slow goingwww.afl.com.au
Was always the long term plan, just spewing he hasn't had a full pre season.Interesting to read that we're looking to use him as a midfielder this season/next.
Would love for this season to start tomorrow tbh

it was always a worrying signAre we really surprised by this? If players haven't participated in any of the main-group training by mid-Feb they're not exactly a sure-thing for Round 1 selection.
By the end of the season I'm quietly hoping Day has a lot of competition for the mantle of best young player.Thankfully there's plenty of competition for spots in all the positions he has or would be expected to play. So we can afford to take our time with our best young player.
