That's a big statement with no substinence. Kruezer has played nearly two full years in the AFL and Lobbe hasn't played a game. You cannot back that comment up.

Ok let me state where my fact lies, I was maybe a little vague. His 3.2km run is on par with Kruezer. Thats what I should have said.

Looking at this team you would need about 3o trades and zero injuries to even get close to accomplishing this.

Yes and No. Last year I had Drew Petrie, didn't perform to his value.

I will concede, maybe I need a 120 + midfielder this season. Like Montagna.
I am thinking Murphy and Vince could push 110+ this season, and Masten up to 100. I also have selected a lot of players I feel have room to move.

If I were to select some higher priced players, I'd be looking at

J Selwood, Montagna, Gibbs, Riewoldt, Chapman. But I did this last year and didn't do too great with the players I picked. my team was too lopsided, and had 2 high ranked players in each position. I had these players last year, and plenty of cheap rookies, 1st and 2nd year.

My strategy this year is to pick players I think will rise to the top 20 in their position. Hence Masten, Vince. J Hill, J Kennedy. But who are still under 500ish. I believe Vince at his price will be = or > J Selwood, so why not take a chance on Bernie. And I don't think Masten will be far behind. This is also why I have Ryder and Clarke for Ruck, they will hopefully push up to 100+

The backline same deal, forward line again. My Captain will be either Vince or Murphy, as I think they could be that 110+ scorer.

It didn't work for me last year. So I think it can't hurt to try something different.

Don't know if Masten can step up that much this year but we'll see.. personally i can see more improvement from McLean, Kerr and think Cooney will push the dogs maybe further this year.

Overall it is looking alright.
Backline- Grundy and Kennelly are very unpredictable and I would not have Maguire starting on the field.
Midfield- Very good. No problems.
Ruck- Ok but not a big fan of kreuzer. Could possibly get very low scoring games and doesnt really ever get massive games.
Forwards- Good but maybe try to upgrade tippet if possible and definitely rioli. I'd swap o'keefe for pav for some extra money. Pav will perform better i believe.

Backline looks pretty solid but not sold on Palmer in the mids.. heard he won't be quite right for round 1. Forwardline i would probably not want 3 injury prone / older players that may come down with injuries - talking about harvey, murphy and ziebell coming back from a big injury

Trade a good mid for a first year player eg. martin, then upgrade sheppard or davis to a quality backman would be my main advice!

Hille is a big risk even though a heap of people are selecting him...im not expecting to much early...i personally never select a player the year after he has done his knee, thats where bringing in murphy is a good pick cos his was two years ago and his price has subsequently dropped...

Fix up a few bench players as well, just suss out what first year players will play!

Overall, a good start...

Backline seems a bit underdone and is a tad too risky IMO.

Midfield is very strong, but IMO Pavlich should be played as a forward and Gilbee should be as a defender.

Rucks are a risk/reward type thing.

Heres my first crack at a team. A few risks in the team but you have to take some and need a bit of luck to be a chance, last year I came 10th overall so I'm looking to be up there again.

A few risks in your backline, Kennelly and Ladson and also Sheppard and Davis starting, with only 2 premiums and hodge who is a potential premium this year if he gets back to his 08 form, there could be some low scores from your defence and reassess your emergencies after NAB cup. Doubt they'll play any games.

I like your midifield as its different than most.

Just watch Higgins and McVeigh are both injury prone, only playing 28 games between them last year.

Rucks are perfect.

Wouldn't change anything with your forward line, as long you have a bench player to cover Franklin for round 1.

I think goodes is slightly overpriced at 600k, and as he is playing more as a forward this year, i would be looking to see how he goes first before selecting him.

Also, (this would be a big gamble) but I would consider trading Fisher for kennely or hunt, as I think the more cash cows the better! + lots more money to upgrade someone like maguire.

Great team. If you wanted to reduce your risk from injury prone players - or returning injured players, you could downgrade Chappy (hammies) to a 100-150k cheaper keeper and then upgrade Kennelly to a keeper.

This removes two high risk players from your squad and takes you to two genuine keepers over 1.

The only other concern with your team and a problematic one is whether Kruezer is a decent enough substitute for a Cox/Sandilands in 2010! Of course all debatable as I have an even higher risk ruck division than you!

Goodes played the the majority of the game against Richmond last year in the forward line and scored a lazy 223 points..

Your backline has 5 players including emergencies that played either no football or close to no football last year. Extremely risky.

Scully apparently won''t play till midyear, swap for Morabito and put Martin on the field.

Burgoyne is no certainty to be ready by Round 1

Rucks are fine.

Forwards are great, Wona is too much cash to have sitting on the bench.
Down grade to a rookie who gets selected round 1 and upgrade Burgoyne if he is not named.

Its one game, and Corey Jones scored 200 against Richmond as well.

Goodes is a great player, but for 600k I want GUARANTEED scores. Getting into a new position isnt a great start, and playing permanent forward, away from the bulk of the footy dosent help either.

We just arent sure what Roos is going to do with Goodes.
