Swans intra-club match

I know this has been discussed in the Pre-Season thread but I think there's enough interest in the game itself to create a separate thread.

Details for those who are unaware -
When: Wednesday 12th February 2014 5pm
Where: Lakeside Oval (aka the oval just outside the SCG on Driver Avenue)

The move to 5pm should attract a much larger crowd than in previous years, so much so that they are redeeming membership caps and scarves for the first time I can recall. In addition, the social media arm of the club will be in full force with their own coverage under #swansintra and also promoting others to post on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram.

Yeah they have promoted this more compared to previous years, could be partly due to scheduling, our only other NAB game in Sydney this year is a Thursday night game against the Eagles in Blacktown (in addition to the You-Know-Who factor!!)

I'll hopefully be getting there by 5 (traffic/work permitting), so if you're keen for details or one of our numbers to meet up then I suggest you PM either myself, or someone else who's going.

I am going but not pubbing. It is interesting but I think we are way ahead of where we were last year at this time. Looking at the footage of the scratch matches being played at training there seems to be a real intensity and the skills are far superior than this time last year. I went to the Intra-Club last year and it was very scrappy and our first NAB Cup match was horrendous. This year the skills are looking good and fitness seems far greater than at this time last year.

Trouble is we don't have an injury list at this time of year to tell what is actually going on. Walsh is being eased in for obvious reasons, biggs had a clean up I think and Hewitt has just turned 18 so they are taking it a bit easy for a while. he will only play Twos this year and they will give him a massive pre-season next year. Youngest player on any list and I think a really good move. Young George will be a good player one day but he has so much to learn. As an onballer he needs to learn how to be always involved in the play. No use having elite skills if you aren't getting the pill.

The plan for the BF meetup is after the intra clash we will venture to PJ Gallaghers at Fox Studios for dinner and watch the NAB Cup game between Geelong and Collingwood
