Fair enough to critisise Clarke's form in T20 but don't critisise him as a captain. He's done very well in that role and hasn't tried to shy away from his poor record with the bat, even conceding that the selectors should look at his spot in the side.

He obviously realises he's letting the side down with the bat, this form of the game just isn't his style.

should he stay in the side as a captain "only" and any big scores (in good t20 time) are just a bonus?

Can you please let us all know exactly what hes done very well as capt.I for one would like to know.Batting our 3 best batsmen at 5,6,and7 while playing our worst at 3 and 4.Great leadership unselfishly batting himself at 3.If he was a potential test captain he would resign as t20 skipper now and show real leadership. He should never have been in the squad at all ,we all new that.Totally unrequired as we had the husseys and white as leaders.White, being the most successfull t20 capt. in the world was the obvious chioce to captain and that would have given us a Bailey,Hodge or an allrounder instead of Clarke.Haddin has to go as well.He had a shockin series with the gloves and doesnt understand t20 batting. The keeper from Qld been going well if you didnt want Ronchi or wade. You are anything but acurate... akkaret.

Problem is, there is nowhere to bat Clarke that we won't rue at some point. Yesterday was only a more obvious example, if Mussey had not managed to heave Ajmal over the boundary in the last over in the semi, the finger would have been pointing straight at Clarke there as well. 17 off 19 when chasing over 9 an over. I ask you.

Kind of agree about Haddin, his attitude to batting lost me ages ago. He just doesn't seem to concentrate when batting much at all.

I disagree, his captaincy was poor on a whole. He bowled himself, he batted himself and Haddin at three. His bowling changes in the final and semi-final were particularly ordinary, plus the team that went out onto the park was not the best Australian T20 side.

Fair enough then, I'm basing my opinion on pre-cup matches as I didn't get to see much of the tournament. If he's been that bad as captain then I concede, though I still think it's good that he knows he's shit at T20.

Clarke is not good enough, haddin's reocrd is only marginally better than Clarkes.

Watto's bowling is suspect, with clarke out Bollinger in to strengthen the bowling, Harris is another option and can also strengthen the lower order batting. Hauritz offers another option, spinners have been very effective in the T20 game and he can also bat.

Or do we continue with a similar make up and include another batsmen for Clarke, possibly ferguson when fit? Who else do we have the can bat in the middle order in the t20's?

With the amount of Non-English players in the team you don’t honestly expect full credit do you?

Actually. Yes.

That is assuming you don't count all of the medals in the Olympic games that are from Non-Australians.

I am a big believer in athletes being allowed to ply their trade. If circumstances mean that a player is not getting a fair go in their country of birth. They should be allowed to move to another country and, once the qualifying period is served. Represent that country.

England were good enough to give Basil D'Oliveira a chance to play first class and eventually test cricket when apartheid meant that he could not play in South Africa. Now they are helping out others who do not get a fair go because of the quota system.

They represent England and are proud to do it, so fair play.

Otherwise, would you like some cheese with that whine?

we had an awesome tournament, just had a brain fart in the final. our batsmen looked nervous against the poms, i reckon the poms have got it over us psychologically atm. the scatterbrain running, poor shots and general franticness were proof of that for me. we need to assert ourselves over them again in all forms and regain our position of natural dominance.

clark captained excellently imho for the entire tournament until the finals, where he was a bit average, but everyone else took the foot off in the finals aswell. can't keep him as a specialist captain though. he just doesn't look like evolving into a t20 bat. using t20 to groom clark for the captaincy in other formats shows CA still don't take the format 100% seriously. haddin also has to make way for paine.

when you're 3/8 or whatever we were after 2 or 3 overs its always gonna be a long way back. woulda liked to have seen a bit more short stuff from taity and the boys, bit of chin music, they were too full for mine. but considering we've been woeful in t20s up til this tournament it was a solid performance all in all.

well done to the unwashed ones with the bad teeth

When Australia was winning more medals at previous games, the representation of 'foreigners was possibly higher.

I don't have a problem with it. I just don't like hypocrisy.

Dirk Nannes played for The Netherlands before he played for Australia too !

I’m a huge believer in international competition. One country's best up against another country's best. Which isn’t really the case at the moment if we were honest.

Letting anyone play for whoever they want clearly isn’t a good thing and defeats the purpose of international competition. As for a fair go in their home country? This is going to sound harsh but… tough shit. Luck of the draw where you were born and grew up.

As for supporting Non-Australians at the Olympics? Well I’d never want them to represent Australia in the first place let alone support them if I was honest. It just doesn’t feel the same.

We can all turn a blind eye on one or so once and awhile playing but the ‘English’ cricket team are pushing the boundaries right now IMO.
