This is like watching Essendon let Collingwood win in 1990. The proud cricketing record of England getting beaten in every World Cup final they have played in is going to be broken.

Nasser: "Hopefully, leading England to its first major win in one day cricket"

That's actually an embarassment, nothing to boast about.

See you in six months you clown.

God, I'd love to bowl a bouncer right at his skull.

Given that we didn't win, no excuse to not change the side now.

We will never achieve anything in T20I while Michael Clarke is playing. He almost single-handedly lost us the final. His constant ineptitude at #3, namely his inability to score at more than a run a ball over his entire T20I career, and the fact that he forces better batsmen to bat lower down the order means that he is nothing more than an expensive passenger.

A passenger that has not earned his place in the team on merit. He needs to go NOW.

What is with him laughing & joking all the time. Would you see Ponting or Waugh or Border yukking it up while getting flogged?

If it doesn't hurt to lose, piss him off & get a new captain

Odd really.

The win itself doesn't really excite, but a happy team and the removal of the 'no wins in ICC tournaments' stigma feel important for the future.

He's shit but we are stuck with him.

Tournament stats. Faced 114 balls, hit four 4s and one 6. sr 80. These days 80 isn't even much chop in ODI's. It's embarrassing in 20/20.

Trouble is that CA are so delusional about his importance to the team that they probably consider his 27 off 27 balls today as a captain's knock. He ran out Warner, tried to run out Hads and Duss and then stuffed around against spin when he is meant to be gun against spin.

And bowled Twatto three overs without even giving Duss a go. Twatto has been unbelievably bad this tournament, it was just asking for trouble. And not even one over for Duss when he has taken wickets almost every over he has bowled.

I thought Clarkey was ok as a captain, not as a batsman obviously, but today did my head in.

BUT England deserved to win, they were far more professional all round.

Trouble is that thanks to our bowlers, White and Huss and early on Warner, we got as far as the final. CA will think Clarke is a bloody genius having done that, even though he was hugely irresponsible today for the rubbish score what with running out Cow Corner and his usual slow coach batting. The one thing in his favour is that he has been getting out without doing too much damage, but not today. I posted his stats above they make for grizzly reading, but CA won't care.

Having Clarke in the team hurt the team's bowling as well; without him you could have played Harris and bumped Smith up to 7.

exactly, as it means Watson has to bowl and he is clearly not up to it. Tournament economy rate was just under 10 an over.
