This kind of match doesn't help anybody.

Tell me how I'm wrong.

EDIT: In saying that, imagine being able to say you hit the Aussie Test captain for six.

It's a World Cup. You play matches for your country against other countries.

Namibia qualified on merit in front of a full member in Zimbabwe (and have consistently beat them), beat Sri Lanka at the last World Cup and have been a much better side than the USA who have also beat a full member at this tournament.

yes it does gets some bowling practice and go home early lol

Closest I can think of is Zim beating us in the 2007 World Cup when they were suspended from Test cricket.
Bloody hell if the only time we can think of is when a full member was suspended 17 years ago that's a solid record, given most of our associate matches would have taken place since then (t20 era)

If you're talking T20I's. 2 of Australia's 3 T20I's against associate nations have been in this tournament (including this one).
Aside from the Infamous Zimbabwe game. ODIs where Australia were "in trouble" against associates that I can remember.

  • Mid-order collapse in the 2003 WC vs Kenya.
  • Canada started strongly in the 2011 WC but were never really in the game
  • Tour of Kenya when Kenya were good. (They had a weird pseudo-full member status at the time though)

Kenya/Zimbabwe in the late 90s/early 00s were such exciting prospects :(

Andy Flower still is the best keeper bat in my view shame we didn’t see enough of him to really rate.

Warner scored nearly 30% of the runs required off 7 balls is a nicer way to look at his innings :D

What if the entire Australia squad suffer from a congenital heart defect in the next few moments?

I’d back Hodgey at the ripe age of 50 to belt these blokes
