Australia are likely to get South Africa (D1), USA (A2) and Windies (C2)

while Group 1 is likely to be India (A1), Afghanistan (C1), Scotland (B2) and Bangladesh (D2)

Obviously results go there way England, NZ and Pakistan can still make it though.
Nope we'll be in a group with India, Afghanistan and Bangladesh if all those teams make it

Seedings were pre-determined before the tournament started.

"Following the Group stage, how will I know which teams will advance to the Super 8 stage?

Upon completion of the Group stage, the top two teams from each of the four groups will move into the Super 8 stage of the tournament, where they will be placed into two groups of four teams.

Teams seeded first and second in their first round groups at the start of the event will retain that seeding in the Super 8 stage, provided they qualify.

If the first and second seeds do not progress, the team that does will take their place. For example, if Netherlands were to come top of group D and South Africa came second, South Africa would remain as D1 in the Super 8s and Netherlands would follow the schedule for D2 in the Super 8 stage."

WTF is that shit... really? so positions in the Minnow phase mean nothing?

Yep, makes no sense

Means we'll literally have nothing to play for against Scotland

Afghanstan will be a tough match in the next round, but assuming we can get past them and Bangladesh/netherlands we'll be through to the semis

Yea pretty much means Australia and India should progress pretty easily to the semi's.

So if the places fall how they look like they will the other group will be South Africa, USA, Scotland and Windies... likely South Africa, Windies, Australia and India final 4 then.

Yeah, it doesn’t matter if we finish 1st or 2nd in our group, we go through as the B2 seed. India no matter where they finish go through as the A1 seed so we are in their super 8 group no matter what.

Even if a number 1 seed does not make the Super 8’s like potentially England, Australia stays the number 2 seed, and Scotland become B1. Crazy.

Most ******ed concept I have ever seen, I though A1, A2 etc... was position in said group.

So if England manage to scrape through which there still is a strong chance they will as they only really need to flog the 2 shit sides they get a more friendly group then Australia who's going to be undefeated in this stage LMAO.

This bit is just daft.

So Australia are likely to get South Africa, Afghanistan/NZ and USA/Pakistan

If NZ and Pakistan pull there shit together and progress we have a group of death.

Wiki's showing Australia B1? That would mean they avoid India
Must've been changed on Wiki.

I'd be going off cricket.com.au

"Upon completion of the first group stage, the top two teams from each of the four groups will move into the Super Eight stage of the competition. Teams seeded first and second in their groups in the first round will retain that seeding in the next stage regardless of their final position on group table, provided they qualify for the Super Eight stage. England are seeded first in Group B followed by Australia in second, meaning the Aussies will go into Group 1 as B2 in the second round regardless of their position on the table. Should an unseeded team make it out of the group, they will take the seed of the team they knocked out. If there are two unseeded qualifiers, it will revert to ladder position. All Super Eight matches will take place in the Caribbean.

If – and it's a big if in a T20 tournament – there are no major upsets and all the seeded teams progress, Australia will play Sri Lanka, New Zealand and India in that order in their three Super Eight fixtures."

Wiki has Group B and Group C listed wrong there, England is B1, Australia is B2, New Zealand is C1 and the West Indies are C2. The other two groups are correct.

So the Super 8 groups no matter what will be:

Group 1:
India (A1)
Australia (B2)
Afghanistan/New Zealand (C1)
Bangladesh/Netherlands/Nepal (D2)

Group 2:
USA/Pakistan (A2)
Scotland/England (B1)
West Indies/Afghanistan (only if New Zealand & Afghanistan both qualify) (C2)
South Africa (D1)

The Aus vs Scotland game does not matter at all to us, except to eliminate England if we want to.

Putting us in the Super 8 group with India is obviously so we avoid each other in the semis. Makes no sense that they have pre determined who goes to which Super 8 group before a game is played.
