Ablett
Franklin
Scarlett
Hodge
Bartel

Ablett + Scarlett + Bartel = 3.

That is why both of you chose more Hawks players than Geelong players. The vast majority of neutrals would choose more Cats players.

Try again.

I chose 3 Hawks but that hardly shows bias. 2/3 or 3/2, big deal. If you could choose 6 it would be 3/3.

I chose based on type of players I would like in my side. Rather than simply saying Bartel is better than Roughead, I chose 2 KP forwards (Rough and Buddy), 2 mids (Hodge and Ablett) and a gun backman (Scarlett).

I don't think that is unreasonable, even if you disagree with my selections.

No need to turn this into a "look at those arrogant Dawks fans who think they have the best ...blah...." threads.

Looks like having your team near the top of the ladder entitles you to be a tool. Well done fella's. The razor sharp wit is just killing me.

Just because your team is going well doesn't make you any smarter. Honest.

All in good fun. Take no offence.

1. Ablett and Franklin because players of that quality just demand selection. Clearly the two best players on offer.
3. Scarlett, based on need. An attacking KP defender (and thanks for the offer hawks fans, but you can keep your two for now)
4. Hodge A midfielder with foot skills - I just hope this won't give us too many of these
5. Probably Ling - because we don't have a shut-down midfielder.

Four of these on the bench and the other marking time in the VFL would give us real depth!!!

33% of the people that have submitted their list of 5 couldn't find room for Luke Hodge.

yeah, right.

I didn't take Hodge because Ablett and Bartel are enough gun MIDS out of the 5 picks allocated. I picked up Selwood with the last pick because he has another 10-13 years left in him so it is a long term pick.

franklin
ablett
bartel
ottens
hodge

mitchell i wouldnt mind but ablett and bartel would take his spot i guess

plus pies need a stand out ruckman like ottens.

Ok, let's add up the tally at the end and work out the % neutral posters who has it 3/2 in Hawks players favor and then work out the % from Hawks posters. Of course a Hawks poster is going to lean towards a Hawks player with the final pick and yes it is because they are biased like all supporters. At a guess i would say that this is the reason that the OP asked for neutrals only to vote. :):thumbsu:

Interesting topic, and good on even Hawthorn supporters for ebing objective, even though they and us were asked not to post.

But i will give it a go, despite the instructions.

Scarlett
Hodge (c)
Ablett
Ottens
Franklin.

One at each end, 2 in the middle and a brilliant ruckman. These 5 together would nearly make any team premiers, regardless of the other 17.

And then, a team for the future out of these 2 clubs:

Egan
Selwood (c)
Gamble/Hawkins/Morton (?????)
Rioli
Franklin

How good will that be in the future, assuming that Egan can return to AA form.

Gave reasons for my selections. Don't care if you disagree. Personally I think you're just trying to stir the pot. Are my selections flawed?

Like I said 3/2 or 2/3. Big deal. There is 1 win between the 2 teams after 15 rounds and 40 pretty good players between the teams. Geelong are still a better team overall but that is still no reason why a poster (neutral or not) should or would pick a higher % of Cats. Ablett and Franklin aside, there is probably a case for any of another 10 players to be included from either side.

I gave reasons for my selections and they are sound.

I agree. I am usually the first to lay into Hawthorn supporters, but i do not think they are being too unreasonable in this thread. probably the only player i find hard to justify in a list would be Mitchell, because there are A++ midfielders in Hidge, Bartel and Ablett ahead of him.

Same with Ling, IMO. Ling and Mitchell would be A+ midfielders, with Corey, Bateman, Sewell and Selwood all being A Grade.

That is my honest, unbiased opinion.

Bartel
Ablett
Ling
Scarlett
Chapman

Don't need any Hawks, those 5 Cats will do us nicely. Would plug some of Brisbane's weaknesses very nicely.

Bartel and Ablett would give us some nice inside and outside midfield grunt.

We're dying for a tagger that hurts going the other way... Ling come on down.

Our defence is workmanlike but could use the experience and class of Scarlett.

And we're fanging for a clever and tough small forward... hellooooo Chappy.

Although with Jamie Charman out of form, and Leuenberger gone for the season, we could use a Brad Ottens right now too.

And your post history says it all. You're a rubbish poster.

I wouldn't be backing in Selwood over Hodge for reasons of longevity. Not with his knees. And Hodge is only the ripe old age of 24.

Selwood is a gun, but he's not in Hodge's class.

Franklin
Ablett
Hodge
Bartel
