I have been involved with Kingborough for the past few years and i have not herd the color debate mentioned. It has no effect on the club what so ever. There has been no war apart from a very small minority of Hobart supporters of which you are one king pin. Hobart are in a much better position than what they would of been if they have not joined the sfl and agreed to the terms of entry.
Im not sure why you bring it up all the time you must have some big issues with the club or pepole there.
The terms of entry for Hobart Football Club Inc agreed 1st December 1997 by Executive and the SFL,
The only conditions imposed on entry into the competition was that the club changes its playing strip and logo to avoid clashing with the colours of the Kingston Football Club".
The club was never required to adopt a new mascot. After reading these conditions then Hobart were not denied playing in their traditional uniform .
So who was going to stop them when the conditions were complied with.
As it stands today the big issues are not only with the club but the leadership of the SFL since 1997 who should and ought to have know that New Norfolk, Glenorchy and now Hobart are not to change their identity.

22 February 2007: Devils Star Quits
By Brett Stubbs. - Link

Having lost his passion and commitment for VFL football, former Devils captain Ben Beams has quit the club, earning the wrath of AFL Tasmania.

Beams, 28, told coach Daryn Cresswell by phone of his decision yesterday morning, despite being halfway through a two-year contract as one of the club's highest-paid players.
"I've had a few things off the field that I will keep to myself, nothing to do with footy, that have been affecting me and contributing to my decision," Beams said yesterday.
"I just haven't been enjoying it.
"It is just the mental side of training three or four nights a week, then you play on Saturday and have got recovery on Sunday.
"I don't think it is fair on the footy club, with a new coach trying to go in a new direction, to have someone who is not 100 per cent committed. It is not fair on the boys either."
AFL Tasmania general manager Scott Wade said Beams would not be released from his contract to play with another club at any level.
"Ben has walked out on his contract and I am filthy on a player of Ben's calibre who is under contract and has walked out on the club," Wade said.
"If he doesn't want to play football any more because he has lost the drive or passion, then that is fine, but he won't be playing for anyone else but the Devils."

But Beams said he hoped to continue playing at a lower level.
"I'd like the option to put something back into local footy, whether it be at a coaching or playing level either this year or next year," he said.
"If they (the Devils) want to hold me back, that is their decision."
Beams was the Devils' captain for four years, but relinquished the role during the pre-season.
It was Beams who informed the Devils' inaugural coach Mathew Armstrong that he had lost the players' confidence halfway through last season, causing the coach to resign immediately.
Beams said that was when he started to lose enjoyment of the game.
"I felt we were hung out to dry," Beams said.
"All those factors take the enjoyment out of it. All it should be is a game of footy, and the fun went out of it. It wasn't any one thing, but a lot of things have contributed to it over the last six months."
Cresswell said he was shocked by Beams' resignation.
"He gave up the leadership group to get that fire back in his belly and that doesn't seem to have worked," he said.
Cresswell said he still held out some hope of getting Beams back to the club.
"I haven't sat down and had a face-to-face conversation with him," he said. "He seemed pretty adamant on the phone, but hopefully I can catch up with him in the next few days."

Can't have any decent players playing for anyone other than your precious, pampered, sh*tty football team can we Wade?
When the names of McIvor, McNair, Eade, Smith etc are used to describe good running of successful Tasmanian football you are the dirtiest f*cking skidmark on the underpants of Tasmanian football there has ever been.
Not fit to be on the same page as these gentleman.

Shame on you Ben, for penance say the "Our Scott Wade" and 10 Hail Wades. Just in case you don't know it;

Our Scott Wade who art in (cash cow) Heaven
Hallowed be thy name,
Thy kingdom has come, thy will is done in Tassie as it is your Heaven,
Give us this day a few new rules and forgive us for questioning you as we forgive those(AFL Tas) for taking our independance.
And lead us into decline but deliver us nothing,
For this is your kingdom, your power, your glory for ever and ever,

On a serious note looks like the Swans are safe this year.
Underage player push Swans wants under 21 or under 23 roster to replace reserves

[BB] nFOOTBALL By NIGEL TAPP
EAST Devonport will push to have the reserves competition replaced by an under 21 or under 23 roster in 2008.

President Peter Mitchell said yesterday that he would be moving a motion to change the current system at the NTFL's next meeting on March 1.

While Mitchell said he was keen to see the change occur as soon as possible, he acknowledged that it was too late to do anything about this season with round one only a month away.

Mitchell said, like many clubs, East Devonport was not short of juniors but struggled for reserves players.

He said having a second underage roster would allow players in their mid to late 20s who would not make the seniors to go back to fill country sides, also struggling for numbers.

Mitchell said East's accent was on attracting and retaining juniors.

A special junior development taskforce had been established to specifically work with players from the under 10 mini league to under 17.

Mitchell conceded the club had probably started "one year too late" in beginning a development strategy but was now well placed.

"If you do that then you can cover for it if five or six senior players leave. The NTFL has to be getting into juniors more."

Mitchell said after having doubts about the club's future six months ago he was now convinced the Swans would survive.

He said 50 players had attended training on Friday and he believed the club had seen 30 different players over the age of 19 on the training track during the pre- season.

Mitchell said a sausage sizzle which followed training on Friday was also well attended by supporters.

"We have made massive ground and the East Devonport Football Club will hold on. I am sure of it," he said.

"While it has been tough in the past I think people can start to see light at the end of the tunnel now."

Mitchell said persistent rumours about the club's future had caused some damage in recent months.

Advocate also reports regional leagues look grim for the future due to numbers.

Thursday, 22 February 2007Leagues may merge as survival tactic Coastal footy bodies to combine in future

By NIGEL TAPP
NORTH-West football administrator Sharon Stokes believes that there is a very real possibility three of the region's country leagues will be morphed into one within five years if player numbers continued to go into free fall.

Stokes, the secretary of the NWFA, said her association had lost about 100 players last season and could not afford to do that every year if it was to survive in the long-term.

Already the signs are not promising for 2007 with only three clubs - Rosebery-Toorak, Spreyton and Forth - having registered more than a couple of players and the season only nine weeks away.

Stokes said while the later start to the season may have had some impact on numbers, the current slow rate of registrations was causing her some panic.

"That is very, very unusual," she said.

It follows Yeoman's admission that it does not have enough players to participate in the Darwin Football Association this season.

The Robins are the second DFA club in as many years to fold because of a lack of players following the lead of Myalla last season.

While Stokes does not believe the issue of one country competition needs to be addressed at present she said it certainly was a possibility down the track.

"I can see it happening with the Leven, NWFA and Darwin," she said.

"Country competitions cannot keep going the way they are (with numbers).

"We lost about 100 (players) last year and what if we lost that every year for the next five?

"Where would we be then?"

Stokes' comments are supported by DFA president Tim Hodgetts, who said his personal view was that there could very well be just one country football body on the Coast in a few years.

"I believe that should the status quo exist in the future then this (one competition) is going to have to be considered," he said.

"Then it would have to be seen if DFA and NWFA clubs - and both competitions have proud histories - would be willing to put aside their own situation for the future of football in the region."

"Ben has walked out on his contract and I am filthy on a player of Ben's calibre who is under contract and has walked out on the club," Wade said.
"If he doesn't want to play football any more because he has lost the drive or passion, then that is fine, but he won't be playing for anyone else but the Devils."

Love your work :D

Scott Wade certainly has shown his ugly side.....heaven forbid a good player just wanting to enjoy his footy.....

This a classic example of why a General Manager (or whatever he calls himself) of a football club should not also be the General Manager of the governing body of the sport in Tasmania....I want to know how they can stop him playing? Wouldn't he already be aligned to a local club, even if on contract with the Devils?

Well i think this will be the beginning of the end the Devils,, Since the kangaroos have jointed the local players are starting to thin out, it is starting to become like those other devils ( the basketball ones ) years ago. A big hit to start with, but people in high places stuffing things up. Correct me if im wrong, but the devils were formed to provide a path way for young players coming out of the mariners program???? and then the mariners were axed, so they decide to have to 11 players coming from the kangaroos each week, it doesnt leave many positions left for local talent!!!

I seem to recall one night we probably did do that many, albeit not in one go. Remember those night's when the ground was closed or we'd played terribly and it was under the grandstand with good ol Graham "Saddam" Bailey!

He never liked us much because our team contained his old boxing coach's Grandson, Mick Harris, remember?!

He flogged us that hard one night I was literally ill.

Or maybe that was because I had tea before I went to training!

As they say on the wrestling, he was a "sadistic Son of a B!tch!"

He'd always make us do sets of 50 push ups - easily too much for me - and if we didn't touch the ground with our nose and old fella we'd start again until we'd done 50 and he hadn't caught anyone!

Well f... me, if we didn't get to 46 and he caught Darren Barr!

"Righto, start again, and ya can thank that c... there!" he'd bark!

Wonder how the young fellas down there now would like him!

Cadoras - love your work!

Barge, I still have nightmares about 1 G.Bailey. I remember the time when I was playing under Kim Excell and we got beat by Hobart, come Monday night we did 100 x 100's, and then push ups and sit ups. Was a very hard man, I still don't know why Mcsherry is still alive after the mess with him and Danielle Bailey!!:D

I remember that night fondly....he was sadistic at best. I was lucky enough to have a corky so instead had to run the grandstand....

Who cares....

Don't worry about these twits like The Lion and monna, ere's the low down from someone with IMPECCABLE SOURCES. Someone like the Bargester!

Happened to be loitering around the Brighton FC vicinity today and discovered that they had a intra club praccy game last night at which gun youngster Ryan Delaney suffered a knee injur which will require a reconstruction!

Heard during the week that Rick Honey has been appointed Assistant Coach at Brighton for 2007.

Was perusing some lists of Brighton's best performances on the track over the pre-season and Sean Salter's name was not on any of them.

I'd say that's more likely due to him not having trained too many times than he not playing with the scumbags this year.

On said lists Coach Alex Gilmour seems to be setting an excellent example. Lead them home in a 3.2km time trial and for a 60 second push up session the boy did an impressive 75!

Shows How much you really know. You are full of ********.

A) Rizza (Ryan Delaney) Doesn't know whether he needs a Reco or not himsely yet, the DR's haven't found the problem.

B) Rick Honey has not been appointed Assistant coach

C) Gilmour didn't even do the 3.2Km time trial, Michael Bruce had the best time of just over 12 minutes.

D) all those tests were done Pre-christmas or the first run back, Shaun hadn't started training yet.

Well done!

was going to the north of the state the other day and called in to watch the central hawks train. There appeared to be plenty of numbers on the track, intresting to see serveral Ex North Hobart & Glenorchy players in Luke White, Josh Bailey and Michael Fisher on the track. Dont know the reason why, might be work commitments. Have heard that they all work together.

BAAARGE!....bargester.....doesnt look good being made to look like a little nincompoop after making a huge statement like "IMPECCABLE SOURCES" and being corrected...you must be eating too many saveloys and pies like Wilbur35 said before - You need to redeem yourself now.

Who, Who and Who?

Oh No! i made a Typo! Shoot Me!! would you like me to go back through all your posts and pick out your typo's?

Well, I clearly wouldn't offer to do the same for you, it would take me all day long.

If Barge's source was a list of results from Brighton's pre-season training sessions, why would HE be blamed if they were wrong?
