our brand spanking new U21 8 team SW League (the thing I'm pushing for) used for building up draft age talent,
Are you serious mate, that is almost the stupidest thing I have ever heard. Explain to me the viability of a statewide U21 comp. 100s of thousands of dollars spent and I can assure you that no one will want to go watch a bunch of kids running around, like seriously who goes to watch the mariners, friends, relations and scouts. Thats all you will have in this league. Why would AFL Tasmania waste so many resources on something like that, seriously this idea is even too stupid for AFL Tasmania. At the moment both leagues are going better than they have in the past decade so leave it at that and let suburban footy rule again after all it is the life blood of our game and is continually used to prop up artifical teams (devils). If it were to go statewide yes an under 23 (reserves) comp is a good thing because you end up with a lot of blokes in there prime and want to push. A lot of older blokes playing 2s atm don't have the commitment and lets face it to travel nearly ever 3rd week you would have to have some level of commitment. But having said that taking 2 teams away every 2 or 3 weeks is not really financially viable anyways. So hopefully they just grow the product they have now instead of getting something to a point where it has potential to be good or even great and cutting it down when its about to explode.
