Your right it is embarrassing....

Embarassing for Taylor that is....

In form, contributing players DO NOT get dropped at the AFC or any other AFL club for that matter....

If what people are saying is correct and he has been dropped 5 times (today the 5th) in 40 odd games because he won't listen, follow instructions, lazy, et el, this year HAS TO BE his last year as an Adelaide Crows player. Either trade him, allow him to sign with GWS or delist him. End of story, wash your hands with him as we don't need or want a player(s) like that at the club.

if not, their must be some alternative reason and that reason must be Neil Craig.

In 2012 - either Neil Craig will be gone or Taylor Walker will be gone. If its Craig, as a club we can move forward, if its Walker we will be sinking again. Not because he is the savior but because we cannot let player of his talent go. Saying that, we all know he is talented, the questions has to be asked, why can't Neil Craig extract that talent out of him?

and I don't beleive he is lazy, I beleive he is lacking in motivation.

Maybe he is already going so he has stopped giving a rats?

But he gave a rats early in the season. Everyone said so as a strong indication of him staying, so what changed?

When his form was good, his body language was good and he was staying, now he's out of form and perceived poor body language, not chasing, defensive actions are not meeting the unbelievably high expectations for a key forward...he is now leaving.

I call bullshit.

Im not everyone ;)

Can't say I am surprised or disappointed!

Walker has frustrated me to no end this season. When things are going his way he looks a million bucks but when things are not going his way, he looks beyond terrible.

He has had 2 stinkers in a row and once again shies away from the contest that you absolutely need from your key position player. To me he just looks like he doesn't give a **** at times and that pisses me off to no end.

Would I have dropped him, yes I probably would have because he has not shown me any willingness or ability to improve. He has been on the list for how many years now and everything that was true about him when he debuted is still true to this point.

He is an exceptional talent but he needs to realise that talent alone won't get you there. Along with Vince, he is our most talented player but just like Vince, he seems to believe that just rocking up is good enough!

If this pushed him over the edge to sign with GWS then good riddance but if he has any respect for his football he will take this on the chin like a man and come back next week and never get dropped again.

From his body language out there and his intensity, I am starting to think that he has already signed with GWS because he just appears to not give a flying **** lately!

Just like Carlile, and Krakouer last year for us.

My first post. But I have never read so much garbage about one player in my life. What we need to look at is that pitiful pathetic effort last Sunday and examine exactly where the problem lies and there are 2 huge areas where we fail: Number one lack of an elite midfield, one that can make up for an average attack as in carlton's case, but not ours and secondly the coach and his 7 year old game plan that really needs to be changed to something fresh and exciting. Fix these 2 problems and we a are a very good side!!

i thought the title was " taylor walker dropped mark riccuito "
there is no way he would be able to do that!

anyway take it easy guys and girls, its not official yet, i wouldnt be surprised if there is 4 to 5 changes tonight, and rightfully so, all will be deserving.

I think back to the Hawks game and he was a real match winner that day... and his efforts really got us back in the game.

His main issue is that if he is 5% off... it's really obvious.

Is he really going to be dropped?... did Phil Harper pour water on that last night?

My honest read on it... is he is afraid of getting hurt. He's put contract negotiations on hold, he's been reading his own publicity... he sees players dropping around him like flies (Davis, Porps, Mackay, Otten... the list goes on)... he knows his commodity value will drop if he gets an injury like that.

Bottom line... he's doing everything he can to avoid serious physical contact... so we'll see him chase... but we wont see him performing any of the acts that are a staple of a serious contested team. It's not that he doesn't care... he does... about himself.

It'll be very interesting to see how many of the changes are omissions. It would be unfair and unjust to drop one player after a thrashing.

Id be surprised if he was dropped.... that being said anyone given it a thought that he told the club he is joining GWS next year. You know what they did to Bock once they found out !

Vince and Martin.

Just for some comparisons, here are how some other key forwards measure up in tackles.

Jonathan Brown career average 1.2 tackles per game
Fevola 1.4
Bradshaw 1.0
Hall 1.1
Tippett 2.0
Walker 1.5

Stats shmats!

For 2 (maybe 3?) weeks in a row now, there have been defining moments in games he's blatantly squibbed on a one-on-one contest. There's no sugar coating it - it was his time to put his head down and get the hard ball, and he chose the soft route.

That's nothing to do with age, size, weight, number of games played or religious persuasion. That's a player who just doesn't want the ball badly enough.

Can't imagine Jonathon Brown, Nick Riewoldt, Barry Hall etc.. choosing to put nancy-bump's on like Taylor has in recent weeks when faced with similar situations (even when they were at Taylor's age).

I suspect it's this sort of thing that goes a long way to him being considered for deselection.

Best place for doing that is in the stands.

If he is dropped, what does he have to gain from playing FF at Norwood and kicking a bag of goals???

Craigy should ask Bass to work him across HB and get him to chase chase and tackle.

Being dropped he should learn that efforts like last week are not good enough. Hopefully some older guys in the SANFL really get stuck into him physically and teach him that he can stand up and put up with the physical side of footy. He has a rig suited for crash and bash but plays like he has the body of a Pittard.

it's not about what he gains from playing for norwood. It's about giving him a fifth message that he won't be considered for senior selection unless he's going to meet the senior team's minimum acceptable standards.
efa...

Improve the side by dropping the leading goalkicker?

I'd drop Tippett - Walker would be on 25 goals by now if Kurt wasn't in the side. That would be an improvement to the team wouldn't it?

Yep, those two bumps on Jackson Trengove and Jack Trengove (is he a friend of the family? :p) were pathetic. No defence.

However... do we make a superficial example of a handful of visible incidents or do we get serious about fixing the root cause of our problems?
