Did you read the disrespectful posts from people writing us off as wooden spooners before the season started or the arrogant Essendon supporter that wrote off our finals chances when we were 2-1, the same one that still hasn't had the guts to return to this thread since we beat them.

I never said people must say we're a chance of finals, I was taking objection to people saying we're definitely no chance of finals before the season had even started or ruling us out of finals contention when we were 2-1.

GWS won't get close. Sydney win was just a surprise, and Melbourne is rubbish.

Melb, Adelaide, Brisbane, Carlton, Dogs, St. Kilda. Not going to take much to make the eight this year with these guys already ruling themselves out!

It was a pretty silly thing to say at the time and looks even sillier now that we've beaten Essendon and are above them on the ladder.

We're currently 3-2 the same as North and people have been talking you up as a top 4 contender while they are still giving us no chance of making the top 8 and we just beat the team that flogged you in Round 1.

A few peoples opinions in this thread aren't making a hell of a lot of sense so I think I'm entitled to call them out on it.

Maybe the Saints have gone past us, maybe they haven't. It's entirely possible. But we'll see at the end of the year. Not in Round 5, champ.

I had us pegged in for winning 6-8 games at the start of this year. I'm over the moon with how the first 5 weeks have turned out. I'd have a guess and say most saints supporters would have been wrapped with St Kilda sporting a 3-2 win/loss start and just sitting outside of the 8 on percentage after 5 rounds.

Of course I'm hoping we win more than 8 games this year, but realistically we're a young, inexperienced side. We'll have our good days (Essendon) and our bad days (Adelaide). The key for us is to continue to draft well (post Roo we will have a massive hole at CHF, so developing a new CHF is essential for the team going forward. Some say that position may be filled already....only time will tell) and to get games into the younger crew while learning as much as they can from the older boys before they retire.

Plug, love your enthusiasm, and our time will come; unfortunately it has not arrived yet. The key for us saints supporters is to just enjoy the development of the younger brigade while we still have the club champions playing.

Lol ... Essendon had a shocker and Saints beat a few cellar dewllers early on. The kids look ok and Reiwoldt is playing inspired footy at the moment, Hayes and Montanga were also good against Essendon. Enjoy your win mate but don't get carried away.
