The 2011 Summer Transfer Rumors - part 2

So Everton have admitted we have one of the smallest squads in the league so what do they do. They sell 2 of our only strikers at the club in Yak and Beckford and our best midfielder Arteta. In return they spend ZERO and make 2 loan signings. Welcome to relegation!

Wouldnt go that far. Should still survive with ease

Howard
Neville Heitinga Jagielka Baines
Fellaini
Coleman Osman Rodwell Billy
Cahill

Mucha Hibbert Distin Barkley Drenthe Saha Anichebe

Decent enough 11. Lord help you when you get 6 or 7 injuries at once though albeit unlikely to happen

not in the bottom 3 teams in the premier league. as stated though, any injuries will stretch the squad

A big :thumbsu: for West Hams transfer window. We are in the CCC and bagged

Kevin Nolan for 4 mill - very important to get some leadership at the club moreso then his talent TBH
Guy Demel for 1.5 mill - Versatile international quality defender who turned down EPL clubs to join us
Joey O Brien for free - Doing well so far
Abdoulaye Faye for free - Handy backup to date
Henri Lansbury for free - On a season long loan but contract expires at seasons end so all goes well he will sign up at contracts end
Matt Taylor for 2.2 mill - Would be my candidate for Npower player of the season to date. Been ripping it up so far
David Bentley on loan - With Tottenham paying most of his wages to boot. Similar style player to Taylor so should do well with the drop in division
Sam Baldock for 2.2 mill - Alot of money for a youngster but hes pacey and what we need to play a 4-4-2

Ontop of that we kept Green, Cole and flogged off deadweight like Kovac, Da Costa + got a ton of wages of our books. Only players left from the Eggy era are Faubert and Ilunga on big wages. Very confident of a top 2 finish and very happy that the Dildo brothers have put some money into the club despite being relegated

I bet the owners disappear the money they got from selling Arteta between now and January, so that poor Moyes doesn't get to spend a penny of it.

Yes that will be the case. The Arteta, Beckford and Yak money will all go to the bank. Same as last year with the sales of Piennar and Vaughan going to the banks and also the money saved on wages last year when Vaughan, Yakubu and Yobo went out on loan, nothing was invested into the squad.

But as said Moyes knows what to expect. Part of him is jutifiably angry, but he is also happy himself collecting 75,000 a week.

Probably the most dissapointing aspect is not only were no players brought, every transfer window from Moyes has been funded by player sales. Absolutely minimal net spend.

I do not know a lot about this Argentinian player, looks like a slightly less uglier version of Carlos Tevez but he will need to be a superstar! Tim Cahill is finished at premier league level, Saha is always injured and Victor Anichebe has scored 1 league goal in almost 3 years.

Merieles handing in a transfer request is a disappointment, still getting the 15 mill for him we reportedly got is still better then nothing

have to admit i was suprised by his departure. i rated him quite highly. apparently kenny did not

He ended up handing in a transfer request, I think the indication was to keep him with Aquillani, Poulsen and Cole departing but he forced our hand.

In the end, he had little choice. A transfer request was handed in. He gets to work with his compatriot now and gets Champions League football.

And let's hope he goes the way of the last 2 'pool players to chase a transfer to Chelsea ;)

Very sad day when people are so concerned about Arsenal. I think people will miss us hanging around the top 2.

Decent signings but not amazing.

People are concerned for the car crash factor as opposed to the fear factor unfortunately. I think we can all admit Arsenal missing out on top 4 next season would make for a interesting little off season to say the least.

Worst. Deadline-day. Ever.

and that's not just because my team sucked.

As far as im concerned all the decent signings and good deals were done outside of the EPL for the most part. Anyone actually looked at the business both Roma and Juventus have done this window. Both teams snapped up a fair few bargains in that lot, Roma especially who had the best window I have ever seen in a long time in all honesty. Lamela, Stekelenburg, Pjanic on bargain deals then loan signings like Kjaer, Borini and Gago. Great business by them

Lamela wasn't a bargain at 12m, but yeah, they've done pretty well. The Serie A will have some fierce competition for Champions League qualification this year. AC Milan, Inter, Napoli, Roma, Juventus and Lazio should all be right up there competing for top 3.

Most interesting thing to come out of England was Meireles to Chelsea... enough said.

Chelsea, Man City and Man Utd are the locks. I think there is extremely little hope one of them fail. Liverpool or Arsenal for the fourth spot. Liverpool have splashed more cash but probably overloaded the midfield area a bit. Arsenal have signed directed to their needs - experience and a big unit that can help us in set pieces.

At the moment, mainly due to the team atmosphere and the starts the teams had, Liverpool look more likely to take fourth spot.

Lamela buyout clause was 30-40 mill (cant remember which one) so in that sense he is a bargain. Still at 19 theres a wait and see about him but the hype is there about him

We've just cut Merieles, Aquillani, Cole, Poulsen, El Zhar and a few youth players from our midfield, we're no longer over stocked there
