PSG's been ruled out as the new home for Gervinho
"Paris St Germain inquired but we are not thinking about strengthening a competitor.''

Will most likely go to Arsenal I feel if the two clubs can do a deal

Paquet told RMC: "He wants to go and has developed contacts with Arsenal. We will soon have talks with them and see what they offer.

"He has expressed a desire to go to England and we will see what happens.

Lol, £35m. Not going to happen for that price.

Real Madrid midfielder Mesut Ozil, 22, insists he has no intention of joining Manchester United after his agent revealed Red Devils boss Sir Alex Ferguson had made an enquiry.

Very optimistic by SAF. No harm in asking though but it's a waste of a phone call.

However, 52-year-old Hughton has emerged as a front-runner to succeed Alex McLeish as Birmingham manager.

Would be a step up for Birmingham imo.

Guus Hiddink, who is set to be confirmed as Chelsea manager this week, wants owner Roman Abramovich to swallow his pride and let sacked Ray Wilkins return to the coaching staff after the former England captain parted company with the club in October.

You've got to admire Ray Wilkins. Even though they sacked him whilst he was on the sidelines watching a Under 18's match (may have been reserves) he still refuses to criticise the club in any way. Top bloke.

Look at what happened to Chelsea after Ray was sacked, that demonstrates his importance to the club. Roman has some sort of personal beef with him so I would imagine Hiddink will find it difficult in getting him to agree on a Wilkins return. I hope it doesn't happen personally.

Apparently Barca have been in contact with Thiago Silva and are very interested in him, and the player is very interested in Barca as well. Would be VERY happy if we can sign after the season he has had. Would be a perfect partner to Pique in a long-term partnership.

I still believe hes the most talented CB in the world, with Luiz being 2nd. Brazils defense is gonna be so scary in the future. But the idea Barca are going to get him is just silly. Will require 30 mill+ and thats not money you have to spend in that position atm.

The only way it is happening is if Mascherano is convinced to leave/head in the other direction as part of the deal

Considering our announced budget is 45m, and we have a few players who we will also be selling/exchanging, i'm sure we can swing it.

Milan have been interested in Maxwell for a while, I'm sure we can work out something there.

Seriously doubt we will get rid of Mascherano.

How much do you think they will sell him for? Silva would command a bigger fee then Luiz did for example.

You could do it but are you going to sacrifice the purchase of a Sanchez/Rossi for a Silva though and should you? You need another frontman IMO more then you need another CB.

Considering we scored at will last season, I don't see how we need a frontman more than a defender tbh. When Puyol got injured we had to play Abidal at CB, and then Mascherano, that's a LB and a DM respectively (I know Abidal plays there, but it is not his position in our team). Milito is done in our system, we need another CB who Pep can trust and play frequently, especially now with Puyol getting alot of niggling injuries and getting on in years. Honestly, I don't think we need anyone THAT much, but he is a great choice for the future as he seems to be a ball playing CB, which is what we need in our system.

Considering Abidal is now thankfully fit, and Puyol should be good to go for next season, I would look at buying Silva and then loaning him back to Milan for the season, should get us a discounted price, especially if they are still interested in Maxwell.

Would leave us with enough money to get Rossi/Sanchez for 25m+ a player.

You lack depth at CB not a 30 mill superstar. You scored at will last year but had no injuries whatsoever in that department. Cant rely on that happening forever.

Id look at 3rd choice option like a Rolando from Porto (a new fav of mine) or an old favorite like Sakho who can cover LB too if need be with money left over for a Sanchez. I dont think you can get Silva in that unrealistic option you provided anyway. Hes only getting better atm and that deal has no benefit to Silva whatsoever or AC Milan.

I agree it is unrealistic, that is what I would prefer though.

I do agree that we need some depth up forward. Jeffren and Bojan are serviceable, but they will not improve playing 5 minutes a game, they need to be sold/loaned out. Hence the Sanchez/Rossi interest. But again, we don't need a superstar, just some depth.

If we are going to get a superstar I would prefer it be in defence as we need someone to start at CB when Puyol retires, and our system is notorious for taking time to get used to, and that is the last position you would want someone to still be getting used to will starting. Would not mind Sakho at all tbh.

As for Silva, he has said that he has had contact from Barca and that he is interested, so I wouldn't say a move to us doesn't benefit him (unless you meant the loan-back thing doesn't benefit him - in that case fair enough).

Sign that CB WHEN Puyol retires and not now when all that replacement is going to do is undeservedly warm the pine for a few years.

TBH I think Barca are stalking Silva because they want Ibra rid of and think they can get him on the cheap. IMO this is a bit of a pipedream. Silva is alot better then they realise and AC arnt that stupid

If we sign a CB when Puyol retires and he doesn't fit or needs time acclimate, then we are ****ed. Need him to play off the bench and get used to our system in training. Every player we have purchased says that you need time to get used to the passing and positioning.

Also, I seriously doubt Ibra has anything to do with this. He has a buyout option that Milan have already said they will use.

Ha ha, Jerome Boateng reckons he'll be moving to Bayern Munich next season on a 4 year deal.

Only problem is that we haven't given him permission to speak to Bayern Munich and we're miles apart in valuation. Bayern are denying they've ever spoken to him (understandably so).

Someone is telling porkies.

Re: Thiago Silva.

His agent has already come out and said that his words were taken out of context (they were from an interview in Brazil). It appears that Barcelona approached him but he told them to talk to Milan because he had recently signed an extention to 2016. One of the quotes apparently:

T.Silva said:
“I’ve been in contact with Barcelona; I told them that I feel connected to Milan and that I want to stay here,” he said. “If Barcelona really want me, then they first have to talk directly to Milan. I’m happy here at Milan.”

Also, Milan will probably buy at least 2 midfielders this summer, probably out of; Ganso, Hamsik, Aquilani, Kaka (personally I hope not), Montolivo. Also, I'm pretty certain we'll get Ganso if they change the Non-EU quota from 1 per season up to 2 (meeting is next week apparently), as Taiwo has already taken up the spot.
