2 teams coming into the eight and only 1 going out?

Wish people actually put some thought into their predictions rather than randomly entering team names ... usually their own.

Cats for Premiers. Think we'll enjoy being under the radar...

Midfield that consists of Stevie J (hasnt played there in the past), Chappy, Bartel, Selwood, Varcoe, Kelly, a fit Joel Corey, with young guns like Mitch Duncan and Motlop spending time in there (shit he looked good yesterday) with Wojo and Monty Byrnes scorching pace... imo the bet midfield in the AFL arguably with Pies...

If Ottens can stand up (a big if, but he is due for a break fitness and injury wise and in ruckman terms is still young at 30)

Hawkins imo is gonna take a big step forward, and Pods in his 2nd year of senior footy will be better again. Hawk looked very good at times yesterday. Very exciting for the Cats. Those two plus the aforementioned mids rotating through - Stevie J, Chappy, Motlop, Varcoe, Stokes and Byrnes.

Still the best back 6 going around too imo - Scarlett and Milburn might be 30+ but neither have shown any signs of slowing down. Milburn bog yesterday in game one. add to that young guns in Taylor Hunt (pace and decision making is great) Kelly, Taylor (AA CHB) Enright (AA, jet) and Mackie (will imo be keen to have a huge year after being dropped last year)
With Gillies and Lonegran fighting for a spot... competition is great...That plus a new coach, tweaked game plan...

Pies 2nd.
Wonder if a few of the younger boys will be 5% off last year similar to the baby bombers in 94... Also, Losing Presti AND Brown for the year hurts. Sides will have been working 25/7 on that press all summer long too... see Hawks in 09...Only gonna take an injury to Pendles, Thomas or Dids and that can be the 5% other sides need...

Dockers 3rd
Need to get Barlow back asap. Amazing that a 1st year player is so improtant to their midfield. But a lot of those young guns will be better again. Palmer, Hill etc..
Great backline, Mcfarlane is all class. Best ruckman in the comp by daylight
Pav would be talked about in the same way buckley, Hird and Voss if he played at a Vic club.
They need a key forward to stand up, but reality is 12 games at Subi makes them ALMOST a moral for enough wins for a top 4 finish. Then who knows...

Saints 4th
Any side with Roo, Kosi (this new rule will make him a massive weapon as Lyon will have to FINALLY play him in the spot he should have played the last 3 years - Ruck.) Nicky Dal, Lenny, Fisher and Gram will push most sides. On the other hand, they continue to play muppets like Dawson and Raph. Should win enough to make the top 4 though...

Dogs 5th
Still a quality list, but blooding youngsters, they will be more up and down than in previous years.

Hawks 6th
Pedestrian backline and a Roo spud leading the ruck will see them not keep up with the top 4. Will upset top sides, will lose to bottom sides. If Hodge does a knee, they wont make the 8.

Carlton 7th
Will scare a lot of sides. Setanta will improve again and be a revelation. Murphy, Gibbs, Judd, Kruezer. What a center square! Add to that the fact that Warnock looked seriously good late last year, Yarran will be as good as Flash Davey off halfback and walker gives them a mid target who can mark AND run/crumb, and they look quality. Backline reeks too much to make the top 8, but the Blues are coming!

Tigers 8th
Every year a side jumps up and surprises us, and the Tiges will do it this year. Midfield is actually starting to look scary. Martin is a grade. Will have a massive year. Newman is underated massively and getting a chop out from the likes of a fit for the first time Cotchin, Deledio off halfback, and Edwards, they'll go alright. Mitch Morton is supposedly finally playing team footy up front, and coupled with the angry ant King (forward pressure is everything! and Roo's cousin, they have a forward line that dont rely on the great man anymore. Angus looks like a real gem in the ruck. Expect him to be 2011's Mumford! Need a couple of youngsters down back to stand up - Rance is one that springs to mind - but I reckon they will surprise us this year.

Demons 9th
Will be entrenched in the 8 up until round 15. Then the kids will tire. Watts is a gun. Jurrah has a mortgage on MOTY for the next 8 years. Jamar is a jet. Davey should be captain. Jet. Great team. Just young.

Swans 10th
Will push most sides, but I have a feeling that Roos is/was a complete genius. Not sure Horse Longmire will get the same out of this mediocre list...

Norf 11th
Who knows why, but off field stability seems to have a way of seeping onto the ground. They are a shamozzle. Looked horrible yesterday. Lack a real quality forward. Lack a "Lake like" key defender. God help them if Petrie and Mcintosh and Boomer all go down together. Will still win 10 or so games, but aren't up to it against the top 8.

Adelaide 12th
Should have replaced their coach. Good list, not great, but good. Still got match winners. Dangers is a jet. Tippet should be the net Paul Salmon -capable of winning a b&f in the ruck, or going and kicking 10 in a game. Rutten is still a premier defender. They just dont do it away from home enough, and seem dispassionate about playing for their coach and playing for each other.

Weagles 13th
Will win a few at home, but as the season progresses, the speculation and eventual sacking of the pharmacist will derail what little chance of a mediocre season this basket case of a club had. Their top draft picks haven't come on. Would be PRAYING their asses off that the old stagers have a massive year. Cox, Glass, Embly, Kerr etc.

Port 14th
Any side relying on the Cornes boys to win games of footy is gonna struggle. average midfield, average backs, average forwards. Enough said.

Essendon 15th
Horrible midfield. Best defender (and player in their team for that matter) is 36 this year. Forward line that has its hopes pinned on Gumby (who has shown precious little thus far) and Ryder (who went backwards last year). Hille's best footy in the ruck is behind him after a reco at 30. Will be better and more competitive, but they could have Norm Smith, Leigh Matthews and Micky Malthouse in the box. It wont change the spuds like Stanton, riemers and co that play senior footy each week.

Suns 16th
Would have been 17th, but the past few days, Brisbane have given us a reminder that they employed Crazy Vossy to completely undo everything Lethal took years to put in place. Will win a few games, but with so many smaller bodies, they are in for some frightening hidings come June...

Lions Stone Cold Motherless Last.
Voss as coach. Voss as coach. Voss as coach. Oh. Also, their captain cant string more than 6 games together before his body packs up shop. Their best players are still the likes of Power, Black and the other geriatrics on the list. The coupls of good mid 20's players they have got out as soon as they possibly could. Rumour mill is spinning that The big boy from Perth already has his bags packed in anticipation of round 24. This ship is sinking and the viewing is hilarious.

Brownlow, Dane Swan. Umps to give him the medal he should have gotten in '10

Coleman, Riewoldt. Not sure which one...hahaha

Rising star. Brandon Matera. Is an absolute jet.

Coaches sacked. Worsfold.

Well hypothetically speaking, if the last was to come true. We would probably need the first three to be realised
