Draft Day is here

Unlike last year when the excitement of adding No.1 pick Harley Reid to our list was palpable (and also near certain), this draft is uncertain and viewed with equal parts excitement and trepidation

We go into the first night with pick 12, which is expected to slide to 15 after academy and Father Son selections and a lot of guesswork on who we’ll take. Or even if we actually use that pick with rumours circulating that we might trade up or back

Night two we have pick 26 (subject to change) along with a gaggle of late picks. Again, there’s the possibility of trading into the draft with another pick using one of our later future picks and even less certainty on who we might pick

The one near guarantee is that NGA product, Malakai Champion, will be an Eagle at some point over the next couple of days

So sit back and watch to see how the draft unfolds whilst praying we don’t do something stupid

This is the most incredible trade and draft period by any club in any league in any universe from Richmond. And absolutely insane haul, double to triple overs for every single trade and pick swap. And saved the best for last. Thankfully it looks like they've been risky and wasteful in the players they've chosen. Watch them all come off and make them look like geniuses though.

I agree, Moraes to Dogs and Tigers I feel take Dodson.

Shanahan at our pick is mental and too hard to pass up.
What’s the book on him in your estimation, and how have so many KPFs gone prior if he is this clear cut value?

At the very least seems like a very sellable pick.

its okay

16 for Allan and gaining 45...thats good
I’ll never let this go. I don’t ignore stupid decisions and move on when we make them
Get a life mate! Call yourself an Eagles supporter? If your lot in life is to be perennially disappointed then go join the ranks at Fremantle.
PICK 3 IS GONE !!
Support the club you supposedly barrack for!!

Nth that was just wow. So they have possibly traded a top 5 pick for Matt Whitlock and the Tigers F2.

So firstly that’s possibly the lesser of the two Whitlocks, secondly who trades a pick like that for pick 26 & a f2.
Unless they think they possibly get a compo pick in next year or compensation for a RFA but even then it’s just wow.
Makes M.Clarke look like a genius.

Can’t ignore reality cos it hurts someone’s feelings. We made a mistake. North proved that just 10 minutes ago. Let’s not pretend we didn’t cos of some weird bravado

I seriously think they got their Whitlocks confused. Surely they wanted the one with better forwardcraft that can chop Xerri out in the ruck one day.

One of the Eagles top 15 targets is still on the table so can't say much but **** ME you can see why it was nigh on impossible to buy back in.

Best laid plans down the path of 'best available' number 8 on WCE draft board Bo Allen. I really wish you the best Bo and I know Mini wants speed but I just don't see a midfielder in you mate. A good player yes, but midfield, not so much. Maybe in a few years.

Freo and the Power both wanted to move up but not by enough to get anything seriously meaningful. There will still be some very serious talents in the 40's in this draft.

if they all hit then they look like geniuses, but the statistical odds of that happening don't seem great?

The crazy thing is it's arguably worth it for them. The AFL gave them so much last year and they picked up the 2nd best mid in the draft again that they simply have no need for another top 10 pick for another decade. They need a decent tall and time is slipping away to get one in time to develop them along with the rest of the squad. It's a wild move that a club that hasn't had this level of assistance could never even contemplate, but a move that they can make without it hurting them a bit.

And?

How many top 6 picks did we have in '18?

How many did Richmond have during their 3peat?

How many do Norf have now, yet still can't get out of the bottom 2?

So who of the remaining KPP's is the most versatile? Surely we dont need another KPF with Waterman/OAllen/JWill/AReid next year?

Were we going Reid if Allan not there?

Was Richmond with Hotton a suprise?

Can we have Caruso?

What can we get for shifting pick 30 to Essendon and just getting back in at 37

Pick 30 plus hawks f2nd for Demoms F1st and 37?
I’m hoping we can have a similar blunder with Carlton for my boys Essendon, were we trade 37 and a future second for 30 and grab Jobe Shanahan. I really don’t want to give up a future first pick though for him.

So Allan was 8th on our draft board if I’ve read that correctly?
