As someone who has lived and raised a family in two of those other cities that you mention.
I think your idea of a shit hole needs some development, either that or you never ventured into Broadmeadows, Altona, Springvale, Bankstown, Fairfield and Doonside.

Plus- Driving round in the East States Capital cities is a nightmare.
As if any AFL player is living in those suburbs though lol

Actually - do you mean Fairfield Melbourne? Prime locale these days

Lived in Melbourne and loved my time there but it is going down hill fast.

Raised in Adelaide and love it, now live in NSW and visit Canberra regularly and love it but would never set up home there.

All our big cities are great places to live if you setup in the right area.

It the most pointless argument ever, what some people love, others hate.

Every individual has strengths and weaknesses. I am 100% sure the club now understands where Clarke needs support. I am also 100% sure Clarke wont be the person negotiating Harley's contract nor Warner's. That will be Pyke and a senior list committee providing their thoughts and input.
And do we now understand?

He belongs at Graylands.

Yep,
left Perth at 21 and lived in Melbourne, Sydney, Canberra and Lincoln (the real one). What you say about those suburbs is true.
Lived in South Melbourne (Kerford Rd) and then had to move. For a while lived in Altona Meadows as it was close to work. Boy does that place qualify as a sh-hole.

Driving from the Blue Mountains which was a pretty good place to live into Sydney had to drive through Penrith, Sy Mary's etc. Also very rough.

Always got a laugh at the sign for Rooty Hill RSL. Said something like...
Rooty Hill RSL - It's the Vegas of the West
Couldn't imagine a place less Las Vegas than Rooty Hill.

Fairfield as in Post Code 2165 not 3078.

I worked in the Victorian version and yes Fairfield - Alphington - Ivanhoe - Eaglemont are lovely suburb.

Sydney and Melbourne the direction that you move away from the CBD, becomes important..

Both cities best suburbs are in the East and the more West you go, the shittier they become.

was probably referring to all the sad khents glued to the pokies...

I've been to all the capitals except Darwin. The only place in Aus I have ever been to that I would confidently call a shlthole is Townsville.
Port Headland has probably got it covered.
The Central areas of Sydney and Melbourne are great, Sydney is Beautiful but self absorbed and obsessed with money, Melbourne is cool with great food and drink but shit beaches. No-one comes to Perth to hang out in the cbd, there are cool places to live though and kms of great beaches.
The pressure is on to move to Adelaide to be closer to the grandies...........f#*k.

What?
You saying you didn't enjoy interacting with the local yoof that hang around the traffic lighted intersections, throwing rocks at passing cars?

Some places have really gone downhill though.
Alice Springs used to be a fabulous place to visit. Now apparently it's a no-go zone.

Back to the draft.
A few mock have TT available at our pick.
Is that a realistic chance?
And if he is there do we take him?
Or do we do the WC thing and take Brander/Chesser etc. from left field?

I was stirring the pot. It's not a shithole.

It's a different/slower place that doesn't appeal to a lot of people in their 20's

Supporting Evidence: I left Perth at 24 for Sydney and found it way better. Every time i come back I jut get the vibe of country town comparatively. Having spent plenty of time in Melbourne i can confirm Melbourne is also way cooler.
I’ve started the collection! You should be outta here in days!!!

As for the draft I don't pretend to have any idea, I like Lyndsay as lord knows we need players who can kick. I hope he's still around at our pick so I have something to whinge about when we don't pick him.

Would be very very happy if we got him. Lindsay my next choice. Sure, not a pure mid, but we traded away our shot at one of those.

All very well to bung on about how cool Melb/Syd are when ya move there early and spend a fair chunk of your youth there. But the same can apply to any place.Spent ( misspent ) my 20s up north boozing, fishing, smoking ( yeh that to ) playing footy; fantastic! Wouldn’t swap it!

West Coast WAFL captain Jackson Nelson is set to move home to Victoria next year, bringing an end to almost a decade at the club. The West Australian understands Ruscoe, a former Collingwood defender, will also leave the Eagles after just one season, where he moved after being axed by the Pies at the end of their premiership season last year.

Gillbee, who is close friends and housemates with teenage star Reid, will also leave his part-time community role at the club and is understood to be departing the reserves side. The 20-year-old did not manage a game in his one year as a rookie with GWS, with his signing considered by many an attempt at helping Reid settle into WA.

The West reported last month axed Eagles Jamaine Jones and Zane Trew have signed with South Fremantle and Swan Districts respectively, while Next Generation Academy product Jordyn Baker has joined East Perth.

It would mean there are no former AFL players in the struggling West Coast WAFL team, who have claimed the wooden spoon every year since joining the league four years ago.

Lived in Rural WA most of my life before moving to Perth 16 years ago. Born in Kal. Lived in Mt Magnet, Yalgoo, Paynes Find, Meekatharra, Cue, Laverton, Norseman, Esperance, Coolgardie, Roebourne, Geraldton, Jurien Bay and Three Springs. Can honestly say I enjoyed just about every one of those towns.

as to the Draft I would be comfortable with Lindsay or Travaglia as our 1st pick.

So lots of club apologists on here say how all we have to do is build the floor, recruit a few free agents and then we a back in the game. Jack Carroll gave us the finger and went to St Kilda. Think about that. Y

I am baffled as to what our strategy is for the draft.
We have six main list spots available and we haven't bagged a DFA.
So are we going to use six picks in the draft and how do we get better picks in this draft.
We use some picks in the rookie draft.
Do we have train on players to fill out the list.
I don't mind missing out on Carroll but could we have picked up Parfitt or someone else.
