I'm not tuning into a second of that shit until directly before our selection takes place, if at all.

The pain of watching the top 5 get read out (over a 2hr period) knowing we should have been selecting in that cohort is still be very raw.

We are a fit ruckman off having a gold standard midfield!
Defence can have Yo along with Ginbey, Gov, and YES Baker! Not bad. Duggan,Cole and Hunt, HEd,in there.
Some of you people are so busy crying you can’t see what’s building right in front of your eyes!!
Gold standard midfield you say?

Is that the same midfield as the one we had this year just gone?

Adding Graham doesn't make it gold standard.

That’s a poor read on Reid.

He has had a fantastic season. Absolute class around the ball, didn’t play VFL like Jagga but outperformed him at the Championships and equally dangerous at Coates league.
Yep, if he's at our pick I'm all in on him. Too good to pass up on, the so called laziness is a tad exaggerated.
He's so friggin good with the ball in hand, and still averaged 3.5 tackles a game at the champs.

If we somehow manage to nab Murphy Reid I'd be stoked

Unironically, I have him in my top 5 so this would be a great result
Don't want him a slow small mid with great hands and good kick
Hopefully Melbourne pick him up earlier in the draft leaving players we want come to our pick

Agreed. Don’t think it’s laziness he reminds me of Pendlebury the way the game just seems to slow down around him. Makes good decisions and puts teammates into space on top of his skills. Never considered him being available at 12 but would be hard to pass over if he’s still there. Still prefer TT or Lindsay but he’d be next.

My 1st impressions from the footage of him playing was that he was a bit slow, but he certainly knows how to find the ball and has good agility, hence why he’s in the discussion for most peoples top dozen players, that lack of foot speed will be hard to get away with at AFL level.

Looks like we can probably put a line through DGB as well, Carlton looking likely for him.

Gonna be funny when the only SSP/rookie we get is Burgiel

Hey. Look on the bright side.

No-one can say we are just wasting our time taking other clubs rejects.. ;)

Shanahan is a stud boys. Whilst not my first pick nor second or third, the bloke killed it VFL level this year for an 18 year old. Great mark and highly doubt we’d be recruiting him as a forward. Gov replacement.
The more footage I've watched the more I like him. Contested play is excellent and he's quick for his size. Ran off of TT in one game.

Would be happy if we selected him. Can't get the best mid get the best tall that can play back or forward.

No but get a full preseason into an already hardened Reid;
Hewett is talented and driven enough that if fit; he’s a gun.
Hutch showed he can hunt the footy and I believe he’s the “ball pig” we need.
Kelly goes back to fourth in line where he excels.
A good quality mid is coming this draft.Hopefully he can show us a bit.
Ruckman? BBW is a top No2 ruck/forward but we need a big mean MFker ruckman. Aahh Lycett where are you when we need you?

BBW a top ruck/forward???!

Way too many if's and but's in that list, for my liking.

I still find it staggering that Hawthorn traded pick 14, F1, F2 & F3 for Carlton F1, F2, Barrass & WC F4.
If Carlton & Hawthorn's future picks are treated as a similar value (i.e. they are both finals contenders & positions are impossible to predict), then they essentially traded pick 14 & F3 for TB & F4.
Pretty shrewd trading by Hawthorn to give up a lot less than what we would've asked for. We reportedly wouldn't accept pick 14 on its own and wanted more.
Based on this idea, they ended up only giving up an extra pick in their F3 and got our F4 back.

Presumably based on reports. even up to the last minute they were still trying to get us to accept only F1 & F2 for F3.
We probably came out of it thinking we had a win by getting them to up the offer to F1, F2 & F3 for F4.

I hate the insinuation that Hawthorn traded their entire 2025 draft hand as they still hold Carlton's F1 & F2 which could potentially be higher than theirs.

Based on Carlton & Hawthorn's future picks being valued similarly, Hawthorn essentially ended up only giving up an extra pick in their F3 and got our F4 back...

No doubt about your assessment that Hawthorn got off lightly, a canny piece of trading by them.

By the same taken our haul of Hawks F1 F2 F3 for TB and our F4, is also a good deal for us.

Carlton IMO are the ones who paid considerable overs to be able to move into this years top 3.

In a world of instant gratification, we don't have the best draft hand this year and that the bit that has caused most grief to us tragic's, however we go into next years draft with as good a draft hand in 2025, as we have had for ages.

Time will tell if we have pulled off a little bit of magic OR we have made ourselves a turd sandwich.

In many ways the fate of our trading this year, relies heavily on the quality of next years draft cohort.
