Why would NM want our pick 12?

They have 2x end of first round picks shortly afterwards

They were traded out last year

After pick 2, they don’t have another until 62 and are interested in using their F1 to get another R1 pick

Potentially they get 11 off Richmond, but if that fails they’ll ask us

Not liking this noise around Tauru not going 2. Seems to reduce the likelihood our players get to 12
The Saints compo for Battle could end up really hurting

If North don’t take him, Melbourne or St Kilda will. I don’t think it’ll change things much for us as I’m not convinced either Melbourne or St Kilda take a KPF

The problem for us is if Richmond pass on a KPF

The Battle comp hurts and will likely cost us one of Lindsay, Travaglia or Allan

Yeah the Billings comparison basically sums up my reservations about Berry. He's crafty but a smaller forward who doesn't offer much physicality, does a lot of his work on the lead and is more comfortable in space than around a contest isn't for me.

Still convinced Hannaford is a more sound prospect.

Who are you hoping for ER?

One of Travaglia, Lindsay, Allen or Hotton. One of these guys should be available with Lindsay being my preference on a needs basis.

I'm not against Murphy Reid but would prefer we concentrated on ball movement with a player who's going to take meters out of teams. Don't really want Smillie as he's on the slower side and we just moved on a Culley.

Second round. Who knows who's going to be available? Dennis would be a solid get but would prefer another smaller player.

Let's take Hotton and then Trainor. Real boom or bust type of draft!

Rohan’s back .

Loved to take the highly rated players the previous year, that had bad injuries in their draft year ……… couldn’t resist the perceived bargain pick with a big * against their health.

Thinking 🤔…….. how’s that worked out ?

Surely the Tigers take a tall with one of their picks before ours. They have so many and can afford to pick a favourite to avoid missing out.

No offence mate but if you think that, you don’t know footy.
He’s been a full time mid for 3 years and still hasn’t averaged over 19 touches in any season. He’s very good defensively obviously and for structure, but low production mids are exactly what everyone on here hasn’t wanted for the last 12 months.
Sure it’s not a complete bust if your pick 9 ends up at that level, but if offered the choice I’m taking the risk of getting a better player at that pick every day of the week.
Hence, bad outcome

Any reason we are wildly ignoring and pretending we wont draft Joe Berry

We just going to flat out ignore news we dont like and bury our heads in the sand?

I've seen us linked to 5 different players just this morning.

Reid in twomeys.

Murphy Reid at fifteen good value, he’s an exceptional offensive talent but he is a risk, can he become a genuine midfielder at AFL level?

Really had my heart set on Travaglia or Lindsay, but still pretty happy with Reid.

He seems firm that neither Travaglia or Allan are getting through. Tigers considering both at 6 let alone 10/11
My non expert opinion is Baker + Reid Mk3 isn't a bad result given how dodgy it once looked. Don't get me wrong, still woeful football acumen from those involved in the decision making, but a potentially bullet dodged?

Reliably taking meters is basically the attribute that most appeals to me about Travaglia, but my skepticism remains about the fittingness of a backward of centre player without elite footskills or ground ball game.

Funnily enough M.Reid is sort of the exact opposite; everything is deft, short-chain and releasing.

This is boarding on worst case scenario areas. Best case is Lindsay, TT, Allen get through, then Reid. Its very possible they all go if Tigers dont go tall. In that world I bet we go Berry or Shanahan, maybe Hotton. I also have a feeling about Hynes too for some reason. None feel great given we had pick 3 to start off.

Yeah, Armstrong not going before our pick stings. Would ideally like to have the pick of Reid or Lindsay / Allan / Travaglia.

Reid is so clean, but there’s a bit of boom or bust with him.
