How can you not want Joel Macdonald? People are seriously deluded if you don't think he would improve our side. He only got found out this season as a key position player which he obviously isn't. He would be the perfect replacement for McPhee.
Untried and unproven youngster > Cloke. He's proven time and again his attitude isn't good enough. Why bother with this trash. Let's have a crack at Dare or Daw.
Have heard that Cloke is a kleptomaniac, and stole heaps of stuff from his Carlton teammates. Apparently the Setanta incident came about from Cloke stealing some pendant or similar from him that was from his Mum. This is why Setanta was not treated so harshly at the time and why Cloke is now delisted.
That said, I wouldn't want him regardless of whether this is true.

I so hope we don't get Patrick in the PSD. As a rookie, sure, nothing to lose but not as a PSD pick. We don't need him. We need a ruckman OR a small defender.
I reckon that Liam Patrick is well worthy of a spot in the senior list.
Reports are that he is an exceptional talent, however getting a Panos, Wanganeen or Semel wouldn't be too shabby either. Others worthy of a look are Dare & Grimes IMO.
But hey I like many here are just offering an opinion

He is a perfect rookie pick- at 185cm who knows what position he'll play. I would rather get Andrew Hooper as the small defender we lack, rather than Patrick.

Patrick may well be a perfect rookie pick, but he also may not be available to us as a Rookie pick. I'd expect him to go early.
As it stands with the 38 players on our list, I think we have a very balanced list. Perhaps another small defender may help, but it won't make or break us, especially given it will be the scraps from a weak draft.
Given that, taking someone with x-factor like Liam Patrick who could well be anything, gun or a dud, I think is well worth the risk. Even on the senior list. Naturally, it is less of a risk to take someone like this in the rookie draft, but if it's quite likely that player won't be available for you in the rookie draft, then lets take the risk in the PSD.
We won't have lost much for trying if it fails, but so much to gain if it doesn't.

I'd be very happy with Mitch Thorp. He will be good for us- could easily play that 3rd tall role that McPhee left and is a great set shot for goal. Like Smith, I will trust the medical staff to have the final say. But he is better as a PSD pick than Skipworth at least!

Told Harley he'd finish his career today.
Harley went on to win about as many premierships as Thorpe played games.
I wouldn't mind giving Miles Sewell a go. he looked good in the games I saw him play. Hawthorn probably have designs on hm already though.
Would also love the club to have a look at picking up Falcon dou Joe Dare and Luke Thompson. Think they are both good prospects.

God help us if we picked Cloke as a back up ruckman. NLM looked really good in the ruck against Adealaide ......
It won't happen anyway so it will not matter but it would be a good idea to mature age rookie a ruckman with some experience just in case.

To be fair to Thorp he did kick 7 goals on Harley that day.
This explains why Port seem so interested in him then.
If we are planning on trying to move up the table again next season then i feel we should go for Bradshaw. Proven, experienced forward who seems like he'd be a good team player and was rumoured to be wanting a return to Melbourne during trade week. Williams aside, our forwards are going to be fairly inexperienced as the squad currently stands next season and even if we only got a season or two out of him i'm sure the younger forwards playing around him will benefit immensly from playing alongside him.
And when do you suppose we would be able to get Bradshaw. He has nominated Sydney as the club he would like to go to, and they have a PSD pick before us, so he is no chance to get to us. Unless Sydney change their mind.
Beside that, he is getting a bit old.
If he's available you wouldn't want to see us pick him up? He might be a bit old but he comes in and provides the number one option while Hurley, Gumbleton and Neagle develop and when he retires in a year or whenever it is they'll then be ready to step into his spot. If Sydney do pick him up then thats just the way it goes. We'd be foolish to rule him out though.
